I worked with kethlenda and omg, braintwin. We had similar ideas and the story turned out quite lovely, in my not so humble opinion. Details:

Have a bazillion recs to post but can't get the brain to function properly. They're mostly from smutty_claus and rs_small_gifts as those are the two fests I'm following because I'm participating in them. I'm quite enjoying the recs from merry_smutmas that you all are posting, though. They point out the great fics that I might pass on first glance as the pairing might not be my cuppa. So, thanks for widening my horizons and highlighting the brilliant works.

I should not be trusted on the internet without yodels around. I have signed up for picfor1000 and hp_springsmut. I got a crazy prompt for picfor1000 last year that ended up turning out pretty cool. hp_springsmut shall be interesting as my requests are either Seamus/Someone or Sirius/Someone, basically. Good luck to the mods with matching me and May the Force Be With You. Sorry to be so complicated.

I have tl;dr thoughts on how detailed a prompt you should leave for your author (hint: it isn't 16 words long counting each name in your pairings). But that is for another post.

Someday, I will get to posting the last of my resolution reviews. They've only been done since November 15th.

Am dogsitting at the house from the 50s over Christmas. I am also starting a second job starting Sunday. It's at a grocery store that sort of masquerades as a Target and I will be working in the home department. Err, yayes for folding towels for 6 hours a shift? But, needs (and Terminus) must so 20 hours a week shall do it.

Finally - I have just mailed out the Christmas cards. Didn't get all the drabbles finished so, instead, I'm going to post them here for a 12 days of christmas sort of thing, instead. I hope that's cool with everyone. I'm sorry to be so lame. Life just got chaotic.

Ok, I lied. slashfest Round VI is coming! BWEE!!! Get your prompting thoughts ready! And, err, if you have outstanding requests? Could you take a look and see if they're really something you still want? I have 410 outstanding requests right now. Also - I suggest you all go take a look if you're looking for inspiration or you have something you're working on. Maybe perhaps hopefully the story/artwork will fit one of the outstanding prompts.

Today (well, today in Australia) is chaeldub's birthday. One of two things can happen. I will either be late with his gift!fic or... he can contact the government to have his date of birth moved. I'm even willing to write a letter verifying the very real need for this date change.

However, it seems much more likely that I will be late. Thus, instead of having gift!fic now, I shall extend the birthday celebration, yeah? Happy Birthday, Chael! I truly hope that it is absolutely smashing!

Now, in honour of his birthday as I have to do something for him on the day. Thus, a few recs of my favourites of his works. Please leave a comment if you enjoy them.

My absolute most favorite thing ever of chaeldub's is In Darkness Lies. Summary: Seamus learns that it is not the chances that we take but the choices we make that determine our destiny. It's Seamus/Dean and GAH. Sure, he wrote this for me but that's not the reason I love it. The reason I love it is that it is so creative and brilliant and heartbreakingly beautiful. I cannot possibly express how much win this story is made from. It's about 19k and worth the time to read it. Please to be having tissues handy.

The inspiration for this story was a comment I made in response to Eat of the Apple (Harry/Lucius) Summary: After the war, in a world without Voldemort, without friends, Harry lives his life like a ghost. In Lucius Malfoy's mind, even the brightest star has to fade sometime. Now the former Chosen One will meet the new Dark Lord. The words "Dystopian world" sort of freaked my shit out for a bit as the word seems to be used for pretentious twaddle that sucks. However, this story is just amazing in its darkness and the despair and everything. I love both of these so much.

They can be read independently or together. I prefer to read the entire thing. In fact, I go back to them quite often.

A Small Crime (Harry/Colin) An act of love - ends in death. An act of death - ends in marriage. An act of convenience - ends in a small crime. Written before DH, Colin's world is so very insular and dry that you wonder how it came to that when he was such a dynamic character in the books. It's a wonderful story that's slightly angsty, slightly fluffy and completely enjoyable.

Five Rings - Dean/Seamus featuring the most gorgeous artwork ever. Alcohol and lust are a dangerous combination... especially for six boys fresh from a war trying to find their way in the world. This is not only written for me (GAH YAYES) but it's also some fairly awesome storytelling. I love the different vignettes in it. Add in the artwork and it still makes me gush.

20 Things about Colin Creevey is also awesome. It's obviously twenty things about Colin. The one that sticks out the most for me is 3. The only magic his father every taught him was how to write his name in the snow. Which Colin thinks is brilliant.

Little House by the Sea Series is an ongoing series that you'll want to check out. It has a spot of confusion, some upset, some interesting ideas on how to bring [Person x] back and more. They're an enjoyable fun time even in the midst of confusion and upset.

So, there you have it, my top favorite stories by chaeldub. It doesn't make up for not finishing this darn fic in time but it's a bit closer, yeah?

Best Birthday Ever.

Started off with waking early to go to work to get payroll submitted in time. No, that's not the best part.

Was supposed to go to lunch with my boss but when I came back from the ladies' room, almost all of my coworkers were scattered in the conference room next to my office where they promptly greeted me with white cake (WHITE CAKE!!!!!!!) and the happy birthday song and a card that they must have been passing around for a week to get everyone to sign.

Then, my FC (Favourite Coworker) came up to me later and handed me a small gift-wrapped box. Inside was an mp3 player. She didn't want me to be without tunes on the trip. Best Coworker Ever.

Yesterday, I went out to lunch with H (Cobra Girl) and she gave me the sexiest knee-high boots ever. Now I just need something to wear with them.

Tonight my mum and sister made apple dumplings. My mum makes the best apple dumplings ever.

Then I got fic and artses.

yodels wrote me Second Verse, Different from the First. It's a continuation of last year's birthday fic and well worth it. Deamus and just brilliant. It seriously brilliant, I love how yodels can do so much with so little... like, she can write 500 words and tell an entire story. I write 500 words and I described a pair of shoes. She's got so much talent there, just go read. The structure and the story and, of course, the pairing, are all made of win. Shower her with love :D.

chaeldub wrote Five Rings and then drew some Deamus art. And I'm sure you all saw my incoherent rec so yes, it's brilliant.

Thanks to all for the good wishes!!! wendy, hd_obsession, secretsolitaire, coffeejunkii and the rest (I'm sure I've missed some people and feel free to slap me for it). I truly appreciate them!!! You guys are the best!

Tomorrow, I start my journey East. Of course, it's warm all last weekend. I get there and it's frikken freezing. Just my luck. Now that I have tunes for the trip, though, I'm sure to get some of the rest of the writing done.

Speaking of luck, I'm hoping for the best of luck for everyone affected by the SoCal fires. I hope everyone makes it out safe or remains unaffected other than air quality (cause some of you are already being hit by that). Hopefully they get everything under control before it goes any further.

I hate the tv show - The Black Donnellys.



Reason? That fucking show has me addicted in less than an hour. GODDAMMIT I HAVEN'T WATCHED TV IN YEARS, YEARS, I SAY!!!!!! And now? I've set the stupid frelling tivo to record it because I am, instantly, addicted. Fucking bastards. I was really proud of my track record and all of that and now? I'm watching tv again. I've even threatened my family with harm if they delete even one show without my permission.*shakes fist*

I'd like to ship Tommy/Jimmy but can't for some reasons that can't be discussed. So, Tommy/Kevin for now even if Kevin's googly eyes make me think of Cookie Monster and his swirling eyeballs of doom. tommykevin - oh the comms... I shall be having fun with this.

In other news, work is going really well. I'm having a fantastic time covering for my boss and they've hired a lovely woman who's already referred to me as her second in command *grins*.

We have a lady at work that is out because her newborn has a 50/50 chance of surviving and even then, the baby's facing mental retardation and permanent health issues. She's taking this time with no pay. What's amazing is that she doesn't have to worry about it because everyone that could, donated time to her so she doesn't ahve to worry about it. This is why I love my job and the people I work with (yes, even SLL). The outpouring of love and support is just amazing. I know that if something were to happen to me, they'd do the same. The reason? Because everytime that something catastrophic happens to someone, work pulls together and supports them. Just so much love for work right now, you all have no idea. I actually was in tears when I called the coworker that's out because she was in tears at the support too.

Then - the flist comes together to beta a fic that I'm very wibbly about and the response has been really great. This is tempered by no responses on a fic both notthequiettype and myself worked on but *meh*, we love it and that has to count for something.

Out of the Way, Middle of Nowhere, Bumfuck, Arizona - Beginning Edition, MacManus Edition, Winchester Edition. It's brilliant and I'm really talking about Ash's parts there.

Finally - it's Ash's birthday soooooooo HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have something for you, it'll be tomorrow or wednesday though. Hey, if I was on time for my own funeral, people would freak out.
