Aug. 30th, 2006 01:18 pmIt's RPS Rec Wednesday at
wendy's journal so go rec any RPS you'd like. I've seen popslash, j2, punkslash and now monaboyd.
Of course, the monaboyd recs were from me and I'm going to post them here as well. These are just a quick look through my bookmarks of what I've read lately and really really enjoyed.
Monaboyd recs:
Beyond the Sea AU Monaboyd where Dom is a burnt out social worker that goes on a cruise and he meets free-spirited Billy Boyd singing on the cruise ship. Just so heart-touching. It made a friend cry and that is a hard feat. Has an amazing ending… just go read it. (long and completed)
In Which Billy Dances, Dom is Clumsy, Beer is Spilled, and All Comes Out Alright in the End. One-shot that's a quick read and just is amazingly well done.
Memory Carries It Through. I just discovered this two-parter yesterday and it's just very very good. Does have het at the beginning (omg, I warn for het)
Goodbye - it's an angsty one-shot that takes your breath away and if anyone wants this song, I'll send it. Based on a song recorded during studio time for Viggo, Dom and Elijah.
Playing House. Medium-Long multipart completed work. This is about the "lost week" In New Zealand and just rocked my socks hardcore. Really does a great job with the dynamics between Billy and Dom.
Stuck - it's a one-shot PWP that is funny and hot and just had me giggling and moaning at the same time.
The Shop Around the Corner - AU Monaboyd with Billy as a kiltmaker and Dom as an actor. Just wonderfully well done and keeps their characters throughout. I love the byplay between them. There are about 8 parts to this one.
I will rec anything by
pippinmctaggert (seriously have yet to not enjoy a single thing) but… especially - You're A Map of a Place Maybe Someday I'll Go. It's just amazing (it's also long). It's my benchmark for good stories now as it's just so well done and I love the boys in this one.
Not really monaboyd but this made me giggle - YMCA!HOBBITS.
Last one for now - The Untitled Series by
canfic. This one is just very hot and omg, it's long but so worth it.

Date: 2006-08-30 11:03 pm (UTC)stoleborrowed from Orlando Bloom. There is supposed to be hours and hours of footage of that weekend that DomnBill tease the fangirls with every once in awhile about possibly being part of an upcoming dvd release. So, loads of slashtastic possibilities.
