Welcome new friends *waves*.

As I've gained so many new friends, an introduction to moi... I'm wook (no really, you can call me that IRL and I'll answer) and I work for an animal rescue here in Arizona. I post about my dogs and some of the rescue stories (both good and bad, so a bit of forewarning there). I also post entries with funny crap that my coworkers do. If you'd like to be on that filter, please comment and let me know.

My friending Policy - feel free to friend me, the more, the merrier. If we get along, I like your journal, etc, I will friend back. If I don't friend back, please don't get insulted.

For those looking to read my work in somewhere a bit more compacted than my journal - I have archives at the following places.

TheHexFiles(Note: This is for my H/D work ONLY). I will no longer be archiving at The Hex Files.
Skyehawke
The Quidditch Pitch

And now, just for fun, wook's slogans (as done by sloganizer):
Pure wook77, pure power.
Kick ass with wook77
You know when it's wook77
wook77, whiter than the whitest!
wook77's like heaven.
I'd walk a mile for wook77
Personal favorite - saved by wook77.

I've been in college for 12 years with no degree yet but I've had a bunch of different majors and have attended a bunch of colleges. I'm semi-fluent in both Spanish and French (though some of the flist will probably beg to differ with that).

I'm a huge Star Trek:XI person. I'm absolutely head-over-heels in love with Kirk/McCoy. They're eating my brain and refusing to let go.

I used to be more involved in HP. I'm a Harry/Draco and Dean/Seamus (or Seamus/Dean) girl for the most part though I love Regulus/Severus, Harry/Colin and Colin/Parvati. I'm also a large fan of Remus/Sirius.

I write. A lot.

I rec. A lot.

I flail about rpgs. A lot.

In addition to the HP stuff, I enjoy Star Wars (specifically OT and KoToR), Andromeda, Farscape, Dead Like Me and LOTRIPS. Monaboyd is a huge love of mine. I'll read almost any pairing that doesn't involve Sir Ian. I'm in love with Boondock Saints, Four Brothers, The Departed, Shelter, and Green Street Hooligans.

I occasionally picspam.

I mod a few comms. [livejournal.com profile] slashfest is one that I pimp when the rounds open so there's that going on, as well. [livejournal.com profile] slashfest is my baby and I love it. I will probably do all that I can to get as many of you to participate as I can. I also mod [livejournal.com profile] hp_quince though I'm failing miserably there.

Um, so yeah, not so quick, I don't think. Sorry *woe*.

So I'm going to go with [livejournal.com profile] kaalee's suggestion and split the resolution and make it 50 books and 50 movies. I will be posting reviews as I go. If you have books or movies you think I should check out, feel free to list them here. I will post all reviews under a cut so I don't spam flists and I will attempt to rate on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being ZOMG and 1 being *puke*).

For your recs - please note that I don't enjoy horror. Ever. I don't watch scary movies, I don't read scary books.

I mean, what do you even do in fandom? When are you going to start CONTRIBUTING? (Seriously? I have trouble getting off my ass long enough to write a fic every month)

snirt, I, um, I take up a lot of air and space. I like being that pillar that stands in the middle of the road that everyone has to go around. I think I'm quite good at it.

SCORE!!! I shall bookmark it! I love my library card. I just put four books on hold already for this. They're very good at getting stuff in and shipping it from branch to branch for you, too.

Dead Like Me rules the earth *nods*.

I hadn't ever seen it before but an ex-boyfriend was watching it and, based on one episode, I bought the first season and then eagerly awaited the second coming out on dvd. I miss that shoe, it was hellagood.

I actually have read all of the Stephanie Plum series and I wrote Stephanie/Joe/Ranger actually *grins*. I'll have to search for the link sometime, if you want it.

I've requested her other series from the library though so that should be awesome.

Hello! I friended you today as well. The introduction post is a good idea.

I love giving recs! Let's see...

Movies:

-The History Boys (I saw it in theaters twice--I loved it, a friend of mine found it incomprehensible. C'est la vie.)
-Fearless (Jet Li's last movie. Absolutely beautiful.)
-Amelie (if you haven't seen this, then go forth and do so!)

Books:

-Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner--swordsmen, gaiety (seriously. This book is gay.), nefarious plots, and beautiful writing. Really, anything this author has ever written.

-The Plague by Albert Camus--because I rec this book to everyone I see, even if it's a classic and a lot of people are forced to read it at some point

-Leaves of Grass and Selected Prose-Walt Whitman

-Invisible Man-Ralph Ellison

-The Mists of Avalon-Marion Zimmer Bradley

Hiya! Welcome!

I've seen Fearless but the rest, I haven't. History Boys comes with high recommendations from multiple members of the flist, so it's very high on the list. I've heard brilliant things about Amelie as well, so it's definitely there as well. I shall go forth *winks*

I will check out all those books. I just put them on my request list at the library! Thanks!!!!

More Book Recs:

Just about everything Chuck Palahnuik. Except Hauntings... you'd hate that, I think. So...
Diary, by Chuck Palahnuik
Lullaby, by Chuck Palahnuik
Fight Club, by Chuck Palahnuik. (If you haven't seen the movie, I reccomend reading the book first then movie. If you see it the other way, it's such a let down.)
Choke, by Chuck Palahnuik
2001 & 2010 by Aruthur C. Clarke. If you really really like the first two, then you should read 2061 and 3001, if not you'll hate the last two. XP
A Long Way Down, by Nick Hornby. Good Book about people who commit suicide on New Years. XP
All 13 books of A Series of Unfortuate Events, by Lemony Snicket. Very sad and depressing series, though, just FYI.
Digital Fortress & Angels & Demons, by Dan Brown. Both pretty good books. :D

So, I'm reccinn in all... 26- 28 books. XXXP I think that exceeds the amount of your whole thing, huh?

*waves* Ok so I'm a bit slow. I found you sorta by accident on [livejournal.com profile] kerryblaze's LJ - I clicked on your underwear dance icon cuz I loved it LOL

Anyway, mind if I friend you? We seem to have lots in common - I'm a pet sitter and I love HP, Farscape, SW, omg I could go on. So...HI! :D

Hey, I'm Aidan.

I used to write a lot, but then I just got kind of lazy and stopped. I'm trying to get back into it but I'm wretched at time-managment.

I spend far to much time reading/playing in fandom. I don't spend enough time in RL.

I enjoy the following fandoms: HP, House M.D., Supernatural (only season one and two because I ended up having to work through half of season 3).

hihihi!

Dude, first - SOOOO looking forward to the [livejournal.com profile] rs_games! Any chance we could get icons for teams? I'd love to taunt the other team like I've seen people at HDC doing. (btw - if you want to commiserate about modding a fest like these, feel free to ping me)

Yeah, rl? whazzat? Though, lately, journal has been all dog all the time.

Hmm, house and supernatural aren't ones that I've ever been able to get in to. I don't watch tv though so there is that. :D:D and hi! *scampers to friend*

Date: 2008-02-27 09:29 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] justaidan.livejournal.com
Yeah, I plan on getting icons out before the end of sign ups... but with everything else we're working on it might be a little later. XD And, you'll come to regret those words. :-P

I've been looking forward to watching [livejournal.com profile] hd_worldcup since last December when I heard about it! I wish I could participate but I lack artistic skills and I just can't get Draco's character right. XD He's so cool and I'd hate not to do him justice.

I know. I'm sorry to hear that your dog isn't doing very well... I don't know what I'd do without my cat. :(

Haha. I haven't been watching any TV lately so I'm really not as into it as I once was.

Hi back! :D

I am going through the R/S team thing and adding to my f-list to try and keep up with people. So I started with you as I just finished a giant Diet Coke.

I am actually very very very excited for [livejournal.com profile] hd_worldcup as the people who signed up for it are amazing. Drarry isn't my favorite ship but it seems lately I can't get enough of it. I am trying to stay calm about it as I am sure I will get my fill once it starts.

How is it being a liberal in a state you know is going to be gagging for McCain to win? I think he sold his soul to the Republican Party aka Beelzebub to get that nomination. I live in Idaho and all it's lovely anti-anything differentness.

I'm adding you to my f-list and I would love to hear your stories about your dogs as I love my dog very much even though he took off to chase a cat across a road on our morning walk today. *rolls eyes* No matter how well trained dogs can still manage to be selectively deaf from time to time.

I'm an HP (H/D, Remus/Sirius, nextgen, rarepairs) crossing over to ST reboot at the moment because of the gravitational pull. I'm also a Doctor Who, LOTR, Star Wars, and, oh, all sorts of stuff fan. I like slash and homoerotic work but also well-written gen and other pairings.

Have you read Andre Aciman's Call Me By Your Name? Great coming of age homoerotic fic recommended to me by [livejournal.com profile] anthimaeria.

Anyhoo, thought I'd drop by to say hi :D I'm going to keep track of your fic as it makes me laugh. A lot. In addition to all of its other graces.

with best regards,

Noe

Hi! Same! I'm slowly moving away from HP, I have to admit. The Star Trek fandom just has so much energy and squee that it's addictive!

I haven't read that but I shall go forth and purchase. I'm really low on books right now.

<3 I'm glad you're here!
