Welcome new friends *waves*.
As I've gained so many new friends, an introduction to moi... I'm wook (no really, you can call me that IRL and I'll answer) and I work for an animal rescue here in Arizona. I post about my dogs and some of the rescue stories (both good and bad, so a bit of forewarning there). I also post entries with funny crap that my coworkers do. If you'd like to be on that filter, please comment and let me know.
My friending Policy - feel free to friend me, the more, the merrier. If we get along, I like your journal, etc, I will friend back. If I don't friend back, please don't get insulted.
For those looking to read my work in somewhere a bit more compacted than my journal - I have archives at the following places.
TheHexFiles(Note: This is for my H/D work ONLY). I will no longer be archiving at The Hex Files.
Skyehawke
The Quidditch Pitch
And now, just for fun, wook's slogans (as done by sloganizer):
Pure wook77, pure power.
Kick ass with wook77
You know when it's wook77
wook77, whiter than the whitest!
wook77's like heaven.
I'd walk a mile for wook77
Personal favorite - saved by wook77.
I've been in college for 12 years with no degree yet but I've had a bunch of different majors and have attended a bunch of colleges. I'm semi-fluent in both Spanish and French (though some of the flist will probably beg to differ with that).
I'm a huge Star Trek:XI person. I'm absolutely head-over-heels in love with Kirk/McCoy. They're eating my brain and refusing to let go.
I used to be more involved in HP. I'm a Harry/Draco and Dean/Seamus (or Seamus/Dean) girl for the most part though I love Regulus/Severus, Harry/Colin and Colin/Parvati. I'm also a large fan of Remus/Sirius.
I write. A lot.
I rec. A lot.
I flail about rpgs. A lot.
In addition to the HP stuff, I enjoy Star Wars (specifically OT and KoToR), Andromeda, Farscape, Dead Like Me and LOTRIPS. Monaboyd is a huge love of mine. I'll read almost any pairing that doesn't involve Sir Ian. I'm in love with Boondock Saints, Four Brothers, The Departed, Shelter, and Green Street Hooligans.
I occasionally picspam.
I mod a few comms.
slashfest is one that I pimp when the rounds open so there's that going on, as well.
slashfest is my baby and I love it. I will probably do all that I can to get as many of you to participate as I can. I also mod
hp_quince though I'm failing miserably there.
Um, so yeah, not so quick, I don't think. Sorry *woe*.
So I'm going to go with
kaalee's suggestion and split the resolution and make it 50 books and 50 movies. I will be posting reviews as I go. If you have books or movies you think I should check out, feel free to list them here. I will post all reviews under a cut so I don't spam flists and I will attempt to rate on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being ZOMG and 1 being *puke*).
For your recs - please note that I don't enjoy horror. Ever. I don't watch scary movies, I don't read scary books.

Date: 2007-01-03 02:11 am (UTC)I love giving recs! Let's see...
Movies:
-The History Boys (I saw it in theaters twice--I loved it, a friend of mine found it incomprehensible. C'est la vie.)
-Fearless (Jet Li's last movie. Absolutely beautiful.)
-Amelie (if you haven't seen this, then go forth and do so!)
Books:
-Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner--swordsmen, gaiety (seriously. This book is gay.), nefarious plots, and beautiful writing. Really, anything this author has ever written.
-The Plague by Albert Camus--because I rec this book to everyone I see, even if it's a classic and a lot of people are forced to read it at some point
-Leaves of Grass and Selected Prose-Walt Whitman
-Invisible Man-Ralph Ellison
-The Mists of Avalon-Marion Zimmer Bradley

Date: 2007-01-03 02:55 am (UTC)I've seen Fearless but the rest, I haven't. History Boys comes with high recommendations from multiple members of the flist, so it's very high on the list. I've heard brilliant things about Amelie as well, so it's definitely there as well. I shall go forth *winks*
I will check out all those books. I just put them on my request list at the library! Thanks!!!!

Date: 2007-01-03 05:05 am (UTC)Just about everything Chuck Palahnuik. Except Hauntings... you'd hate that, I think. So...
Diary, by Chuck Palahnuik
Lullaby, by Chuck Palahnuik
Fight Club, by Chuck Palahnuik. (If you haven't seen the movie, I reccomend reading the book first then movie. If you see it the other way, it's such a let down.)
Choke, by Chuck Palahnuik
2001 & 2010 by Aruthur C. Clarke. If you really really like the first two, then you should read 2061 and 3001, if not you'll hate the last two. XP
A Long Way Down, by Nick Hornby. Good Book about people who commit suicide on New Years. XP
All 13 books of A Series of Unfortuate Events, by Lemony Snicket. Very sad and depressing series, though, just FYI.
Digital Fortress & Angels & Demons, by Dan Brown. Both pretty good books. :D
So, I'm reccinn in all... 26- 28 books. XXXP I think that exceeds the amount of your whole thing, huh?

Date: 2008-02-27 05:41 am (UTC)I used to write a lot, but then I just got kind of lazy and stopped. I'm trying to get back into it but I'm wretched at time-managment.
I spend far to much time reading/playing in fandom. I don't spend enough time in RL.
I enjoy the following fandoms: HP, House M.D., Supernatural (only season one and two because I ended up having to work through half of season 3).

Yeah, rl? whazzat? Though, lately, journal has been all dog all the time.
Hmm, house and supernatural aren't ones that I've ever been able to get in to. I don't watch tv though so there is that. :D:D and hi! *scampers to friend*

I know. I'm sorry to hear that your dog isn't doing very well... I don't know what I'd do without my cat. :(
Haha. I haven't been watching any TV lately so I'm really not as into it as I once was.
Hi back! :D

How is it being a liberal in a state you know is going to be gagging for McCain to win? I think he sold his soul to the Republican Party aka Beelzebub to get that nomination. I live in Idaho and all it's lovely anti-anything differentness.
I'm adding you to my f-list and I would love to hear your stories about your dogs as I love my dog very much even though he took off to chase a cat across a road on our morning walk today. *rolls eyes* No matter how well trained dogs can still manage to be selectively deaf from time to time.

Anyhoo, thought I'd drop by to say hi :D I'm going to keep track of your fic as it makes me laugh. A lot. In addition to all of its other graces.
with best regards,
