I work with an idiot... (I know, what a shock) who has been here for 5 months. She has yet to call me by the correct name.

I'm the only "wook" here, so I would think that would make it easier. Instead, she barely even remembers the first letter let alone the rest. It's f'in annoying.

When she sends me paperwork with the wrong name on it, I forward it to the person that she's put the name on. For example... she sent me something addressed to "Amy". So, I forwarded the mail on to "Amy" and ignored the fact that it was blatantly obvious it was supposed to go to me.

Am I wrong for thinking that her actions are just plain rude and inexcusable? I mean, it's been 5 months. I remember her name and address her by her correct name. Am I asking too much that she remember mine?

By the way - if you all want an RPG that's entertaining to watch... vu_network is starting to heat up. In the last week alone, there's a "thing" between Harry and Draco, overly!chipper!Parvati and Emo!Goth!Colin are going to be going to Hogsmeade together and Dean kissed Seamus while drunk, leaving poor Mandy devastated. In addition - someone stole Emo!Goth!Colin's eyeliner and he came up with some very very entertaining threats.

If anyone needs help getting caught up, I'm more than willing to squee about it and/or point you all to doyouvu where the summaries of what all has happened are posted on a weekly basis.

*is wondering how someone can not remember wook* you know it's just about teh cutest name ever, not to mention it's fairly famous (is that the right word? I mean everyone's seen star wars and knows what a wookie is...). Um, yes, so point was she sounds like an idiot. Not learning someone's name or even bothering to try is just plain ridiculous, it's not like it's hard to match a name and a face with someone who you see on a daily basis. 0.o

I've got one at work that's been calling me "Ginger" for over a year. It doesn't even start with the right letter. I just ignore her anymore, because she usually goes "Wait. That's not your name, is it?" I just smile my cute little smile and mentally catalogue the location of all the sharp and flamable objects in the lab.

There are some people who call me Jennifer on a regular basis, and then I have to correct them and they are embarrassed. Every time. Right first letter, at least.

Calling someone by the wrong name is just inexcusably rude. I would forward that stuff on, too! I get the same thing all the time - people call me Sarah or Brenda or Kendra or Sandy (which is at least a reasonable guess, but no one calls me that (and I would hate it if they tried!)) or Cassandra or... believe it or not, I got an Amy once, too. That one's not even in the freaking ballpark!!

It was nice to see her scrambling to explain her rudeness.

She's a twatnosed bint. I did do the silent *exude smugness* and had a smirk worthy of Draco flirting about my lips. It kept trying to surface but I bit it back everytime.

Also - that icon is just amazing. I am so going to pinch it, if you don't mind. I absolutely ADORE it. It makes me giggle uncontrollably.

Crazy. What a twat! I love exuding smugness like that, tee-hee! The other day, my boss had ordered me to check all of our chocolate (I work in a card store, if I hadn't mentioned that yet) and get rid of any that might have been kept past its prime. I checked every single freaking item and nothing was past due, though a few things had expiry dates in September or so. I told her this, and she completely blew up at me, saying that she'd seen a whole bunch of stuff herself, etc., etc., so I asked her to show me where (uber-politely!!), and so she marched me over to the chocolate section - only to have me gently point out that the things she thought were due this month (06) - she was actually reading wrong. That was the year. Idiot. She felt very foolish, and as I'm two years older than she is, she feels this difference keenly and I think felt like a huge fool. It doesn't help that I have three degrees and she has none, too. :P *silently smug* :D

We all have names for a reason. Thus, we use them. So no, you are not wrong. She is. It's very crucial to learn the names of your co-workers, especially when you're going to be doing things side by side. Some people are just very ignorant.
