Pervvy Valentine Series by Laurel_tx

*snirt*

I haven't posted fic in forever but it's mainly because everything I'm working on right now is for anonymous exchanges or with other people and they're busy cleaning up my horribly written smut working with me on it. I have a gen piece almost done and a wonderfully smutty piece for [livejournal.com profile] daily_deviant that's interesting and not my normal sort to be writing.

Prophecy is up in the air at this point, I'm sorry to say. I received a bill for 2k that I'm trying to find the money to pay (and not out of my Prophecy fund). But, it's not looking good for that. So, up in the air but don't give away my spot in the room yet.

Cisco (my black terrier mix) has a couple of odd lumps. I'm taking him to the vets on Thursday and am hoping for a cheap fix (see above comment about that bill). His eyesight is basically gone and he's bumping into walls and not wanting to go outside so I'm getting nervous about moving in a few months as he'll have a completely new floorplan to get used to whereas, at least with this one, he's able to have the memory of where furniture is. I just ordered "doggles" for him, which are these sunglasses-for-dogs sort of thing because he's also really light sensitive now and won't go outside when it's sunny. The doggles will keep him from blinding himself and/or peeing in the house because going outside is too painful.

That bill for 2k is for school and I'm trying to pay it so I can finally finish my degree (12 years and counting...). I'm looking at grad schools and am thinking of going for poli sci. I've looked at teaching and science and english and history and blahblahblah. I'm thinking that Poli Sci is more for me the more I think about it. I enjoy politics and I'd like to get more active. I've just applied to volunteer with the local Democratic Party to test teh waters though I'm also volunteering to read to little kids with Cisco on the weekends. Cisco is a certified therapy dog so he has the certification to be able to go to the library as part of the Delta Society. It should be fun. I'm working to get another of my dogs certified as he's much better with kids than Cisco.

Then, my boss is leaving and I've volunteered to assume some of his duties while they're hiring to try to finagle a promotion and a huge raise out of it. Basically, less lj'ing for the next month or so it'll take to hire a new person. That's ok, though. I lj too much at work anyway. I also have to get a second job to be able to afford the new house because my mother's way of working around me not being able to afford the house is to "help" get me a second job. Stupid twunt (not really but kindasorta).

And now I'm just whinging so I'll stop here and go back to the payroll that is kicking my ass.

How are all of you?

I searched around for a kink to use for the pairing as I'm not quite able for the rest and OMG PERFECT KINK.

I'm so excited for it though it's, err, dub-con and weird but good, I hope think.

Ooh, the Ron/Tonks pairing? I was perversely excited when that came out of the hat. ;) Dub-con and weird is good!

I hope Cisco gets the care at the vets he needs. :)

I'm fine! Just had a very soul destroying lecture though. :/

He will, I'm sure. The vet loves him and gives me a nice big discount for working at a humane society *grins*. Plus, if it's way expensive, they normally allow for payments.

Soul destroying lecture? *woe* I'm sorry... feel free to vent here, though, yeah?

Good :)

Heh, it was just really reminiscent to a module I had in my first year, and I quite literally felt like shooting myself in the head, it was quite literally, that soul destoryingly boring.

I hope you can attend Prophecy hon! I know the feeling...Louie's vet bills were worrying me too. I spent about $600 on him and if he still wasn't healed, I knew I wouldn't be able to go.

I hope Cisco will be ok!

I figured off my flist, you would be the one to know the pain I'm going through with him! I'm just glad poor Louie is healed up and not chewing on his scars and such!

A friend supposedly had their dog have similar bumps and they're not too bad but still requires lancing and stuff I can't do.

::huggles:: for Cisco. Poor thing. And sympathy for your money situation. I've just had to defer my place on a course because of money :-(

Thanks and yeah, I think if I can find a job where I don't have to work for a pittance, I might be able to go to Prophecy.

UGH, school is so expensive and it sucks because it really doesn't pay off in the end, does it? It's just a sheet of paper and you don't really get paid much more with a bachelors than without. It's the masters you need anymore and that just sucks because it takes forever and ok, I'm ranting now so I'll stop *grins*.

I feel lucky that I got through university when we still had maintenance grants. I still had to get a student loan (a completely new idea over here at the time). We don't have the 'needing a Masters' thing, although it's a help if you want to go into management in some fields. Which is fortunate, because they're f***ing expensive. The thing that's killing me is not being able to do it full-time. Working and studying and having to pay for it all plus the transport (up to £100 a week, every week of term) was just too much. (Sorry, I'm whining...) I'm looking at the OU (Open University), which is all distance learning, but the course I was on is only available at Goldsmiths... oh well.
