Logan charges, giving a ferocious shout as he extends his claws and slashes at Gambit. He's finally got the bastard face-to-face. No teasing touches, no chases through the city streets, no apples, no cross country journeys, no scent hanging in the air. Instead, it's just him and Gambit in the middle of an alleyway in New Orleans. As Gambit ducks, Wolverine slashes again and then once more. Each slash is avoided as Gambit gracefully dodges.
The bo staff comes out and twirls through the air, fluid and beautiful, as Logan lunges towards Gambit. He's going to gut the fucker if Gambit doesn't stop this game and give up the information Logan wants. It's a risk he's willing to take considering that this chase has lasted for close to a year. Anyone would lose their patience and it's not like Wolverine's known for his.
He expects to cut through the bo staff and is pleasantly surprised by the the tink of adamantium meeting adamantium. This just got interesting rather than tedious. "Where you get that?"
"Gentleman never tells his secrets," Gambit says with a teasing smile.
"Hate to break it to ya, bub, but whoever said you were a gentleman lied to you," Wolverine responds.
"Now is that anyway to talk to an old friend?" Gambit punctuates his words with a few quick slashes of his staff, actually making contact with Wolverine's shoulder.
"You want to tell me about that friendship?"
"Gotta make you work for it else you no' appreciate it." Gambit swirls his staff behind him and Logan rushes to take advantage, only to get rapped on the side of his face.
"Anyone ever tell you you're an asshole?" Logan steps back and touches his face, hand coming away sticky with blood.
"You say the sweetest things, cher," Gambit purrs, voice low and seductive as it goes straight to Logan's groin.
"Don't get why you won't talk to me. You gotta try the hard way all the time?" Logan reaches out and grabs the staff before it makes contact with his body, yanking on it and bringing Gambit far too close for his currently interested state. The scent pulls him in, going straight to his cock.
"Like it hard, what can I say?" Gambit rubs against him, the meaning behind his words blatantly obvious. The expression on his face dares Logan to do something about it so he does. He leans in and licks that cocky expression off Gambit's face. He licks at Gambit's lips and then nips his lower one, demanding entrance roughly as he retracts his claws and pulls Gambit in closer.
Gambit answers with even more heat, his bo staff knocking against the back of Logan's head as Gambit's fingers thread into his hair. Wolverine moans as Gambit's taste bursts over his tongue as tongue tangles with tongue. As distracting as Gambit's kiss and heated response are, Logan keeps pulling himself back to remember that he's got to hold on to Gambit just in case this is all part of his plan for escape.
It's taken Logan far too long to force this confrontation to give it all up now. Too long chasing from one area of the country to another, up into Canada and down into Mexico, chasing from museum to bank to depository to national treasure. All for this one, small connection to his past.
When they finally break the kiss, Gambit leans his forehead against Logan's and whispers, "Your name is Logan. You told me you were born before the War of Northern Aggression."
Logan waits and the words continue to pour forth, the confessions of the fight and the kiss that followed, the flight to the island, the wreckage, the rescue and the discovery. It doesn't give him much but it's enough to lead him to the next part. When Gambit finishes, Logan licks at his lips once more, demanding entrance. Gambit yields again, opening up underneath the onslaught and then grins against Logan's lips. "Repetez, s'il vous plais?"
"Oui," Logan says and allows himself to be led out of the alley.
