Ostensibly, they're practicing for the wedding that is coming up. Leonard hasn't danced since his own wedding, and that, unfortunately, had been an embarrassing number of years ago. Considering that the entire Bridge crew would be taking that first swing about the dance floor, Leonard doesn't want to look like an asshole in front of the Elders of New Vulcan.

"Seriously, Bones, loosen up your hips. I know that it's a Vulcan dance and yeah, they all have sticks up their asses, but you don't have to, you know." Jim grabs his hips and gives them a slight shake.

"Maybe I like the stick up my ass," Leonard mutters as he pushes Jim's hands off his hips. Perhaps a little too exuberantly, but what does it matter when he's trying to keep Jim from touching him? They're too close already. Hell, with one glance down and to the side, Jim'll see the way that Leonard had reacted to his hands on his body, guiding him where Jim wants him. Then the entire gig is up and Jim will know that Leonard wants his hands other places.

Like the small of his back, drifting along his spine until it reaches his hairline then massaging his neck. God, that would be lovely, to have a quick neck and scalp massage with Jim's hands touching him everywhere Leonard can imagine and a few places he hadn't thought about.

Like just behind his right ear. Which Jim is doing right now, dammit. Dammit. His cock is pressing against his trousers and he's pressing back towards Jim like a fucking cat in heat.

"That's better. Now you're more relaxed. Want to try that step again?" Jim asks, dangerously close to the skin he's just been massaging.

"Thought dancing would be too illogical for Vulcans."

"Just ‘cause they don't do it often doesn't mean they don't do it at all." Is Jim making a double entendre or is Leonard reading too much into the situation?

Ignoring Jim's presence, Leonard concentrates on the dance steps, sliding from one to another. As he gets more comfortable, he notices that Jim's hands are on Leonard's hips once more, sliding along with him. When the time comes for him to turn, Jim's hands don't leave, letting his stomach and back slide along Jim's hands until they're face to face.

"Jim," he whispers as they stop just a hairsbreadth away.

"Isn't it about time?" Jim asks, mirroring his whisper.

"Jim," he whispers once more, body leaning closer. His mind, though scrambles for distance with as many logical, rational reasons as to why this is such a Very Fucking Bad Idea.

"Leonard," Jim says, hand drifting up Leonard's body until it reaches the back of his neck, while his thumb wreaks havoc with the back of Leonard's ear once more.

"Promise?" he asks, trusting that Jim knows exactly what he's asking.

"Promise," Jim responds and then, with the lightest pressure, pulls Leonard closer. When their lips touch, Leonard sighs against them. He's not a fucking Vulcan – logic can fly right out the window.
