Dear Mum, Dad and Dennis,

Hogwarts is great! I'm having so much fun and I've taken at least twenty rolls of photos. They're all Muggle, you remember what that lady from the school said? Muggles are what you guys are, mum and dad, I mean since we don't know about Dennis yet but Dennis, just wait until you see this place! Hopefully you're not Muggle no offence to mum or dad but it's wicked cool here and I think you'd have a brilliant time.

Anyway, I'm sending a bunch of the photos I've taken but I'm hoping that Professor Flitwick will help me with making them into Wizard photographs because the Wizard ones move and would be much more cool. Then you'd get to see some of the stuff going on here.

I got Sorted (yes, mum, with a capital s, I know that I've always been bad at capitalising but this time, I'm right, I promise) and I'm in Gryffindor with Harry Potter. Did you guys read that book that I left at home? He's really brilliant and we're turning into best mates. We eat lunch together and sometimes I get to go to breakfast with him and his mates.

Mum, I know you were worried that I wouldn't make any friends but I'm not different here. I'm like everyone else and no one makes fun of me for being off. If they do, Harry glares at them and then they leave me alone. This is the best school ever, mum. I love it here! Not that I didn't love living with you guys but I really love being here too.

The lessons are wicked too. Professor Flitwick is this really short guy that does the most amazing things with his wand and he's promised to help me with my photographs if I keep my grades up and be quiet for five lessons in a row. I'm at lesson four and I think I can do this. Pretty soon, you'll have moving pictures and stuff, won't that be great?

Dennis, you're going to love it here, if you're magical which I think you are and after being here so far, it seems like the stuff that you did to that big bloke? That's the sort of thing that a few others have done too. Harry says that he did something similar but instead of turning him blue, Harry jumped up on top of a building. A building, can you believe it?

Harry says that all the kids do something similar, that it isn't just the Muggle ones. He says that I should ask Hermione what she did. Hermione's one of his friends and she's Muggleborn and her mum and dad are dentists and I think you should take Dennis there for his teeth because they need some attention. Hermione didn't say, though. I asked Ron and he told me to bugger off but I think he's just embarrassed about what his sign was because it's not nearly as cool as jumping up onto a building or releasing a snake or anything. Neville is one of my mates too and he bounced when he was dropped from a window by accident by his great uncle. Boy am I glad I don't have a great uncle, no offence to the family, mum and dad. But can you imagine being dropped from a window? I wonder if I would bounce. That would be brilliant, though, really brilliant but I think being able to jump onto a building would be even more brilliant. No, mum and dad, I don't plan on doing it.

Ginny says that you should give this owl a treat if you want him to bring a letter back. Harry says that that's good advice and that the owls here are all really cool even though they're not as cool as his owl. Harry's owl is this big white owl and she's really pretty. Can I get an owl, mum? Please? Then I wouldn't have to borrow one from school. I'd even take care of it over the summer and stuff. You wouldn't have to do anything. I bet the neighbours wouldn't even notice! Harry says that his aunt and uncle barely noticed his owl all summer. Harry also said that he'd tell me how he did it if you guys would be willing to get me one so can I please have one?

It's really late and if I wait at the portrait door, that's how we get in and out, there's a talking Fat Lady and, mum, I'm not insulting her, I promise, she's called the Fat Lady. If I wait at the door, I can go to breakfast with Harry and Ron and Hermione and I've missed them the last couple of days so I think I need to get up earlier to be able to catch them for breakfast so I should probably go to bed now. I'll continue sending letters with the school owls until you guys get me an owl. This toad doesn't do much and I think an owl would be better.

I love you all!

Love,
Colin

As always, I'd love to hear what you think, concrit welcomed with open arms

*snickers* Ahem, um, yeah.

That was so cute, honey. I love Colin's perspective on his friendship with Harry.
