Previews of movies should be disallowed. I now want to go see Watchmen (thanks, mizbean for bringing that one to my attention!!!), the new Bond movie, and, for the first time ever... a Terminator movie. I've never wanted to see any of the Terminators. In fact, I've only seen the first (under duress) but this one is just awesome looking. I cannot fucking wait.

Memoirs of Hadrian is purported to have Charlie Hunnam and Antonio Banderas playing gay lovers. I really really want to see this happen.

Terminus. ;ldkjfald YES this shall rock if only to see a bunch of amazing people. I cannot wait for this shindig. I sort of want to get a tattoo while there. I missed out at Lumos and want to do it this time. I need the moral support because, omg, it feels like someone's taking a scalpel to my skin and carving me alive. I definitely do NOT get off on needles or knifeplay :/

I'm rather sad that I missed the people at Portus but not so much the con.

Is anyone else watching gay_icons? This is like crack for me. I want to gank quite a few of them.

So RL has me down but there's plenty of squee out there so I'm going to fixate on that, instead. I plan on having a new job by January wherever it might be. I was offered a job in London but, unfortunately, with the cost of living, it was less than I'm making now with no moving costs paid for, either. Add in the whole transport/pet passport for my dogs and, well, I turned it down.

People laugh when I call the summer storm season here in Tucson the "monsoon season" but we refer to it as that for a reason. here are a couple of vids (one in the main post and another in the comments) of the storm last night that swung in from nowhere and didn't stop. I might've gotten soaked dancing about in it on the street. My family thinks I'm nuts but OMG do I love thunderstorms. I never feel so alive as I do with lightning crashing and the wind blowing while I get pelted with heavy rain. It's a beautiful life-reaffirming time for me. Anyone else dance in thunderstorms?

I missed the one last night because i had to sleep so i could get up at an ungodly hour. but I have been known to dance in rainstorms. we do have nice high walls in my backyard ;)

:( You totally need to visit arizona in the summer monsoon seasons. Our thunderstorms are the best and with your mad photography skillz... you'd have a brilliant time here. Here (http://www.wunderground.com/data/wximagenew/j/jhaz/178.jpg) is one of my fave images. here (http://science.nationalgeographic.com/staticfiles/NGS/Shared/StaticFiles/Science/Images/Content/tucson-lightning-a0e722-xl.jpg) is another. The city is in a valley so we get the coolest storms ever.

The storms are rather terrifying with how strong they are. They come in from nowhere at times... horrid storms here and bright sunshine over ->. They're powerful and energizing. You can get four or five bolts streaking diagonally across the sky all at once. here are some (http://www.ultimatechase.com/Chase_Accounts/monsoon_photo_shoot_2007.htm) great ideas of what it's like to see them. Plus, it has a tarantula :D.

YES! Isn't that awesome!?!?!?!!? I'm so excited because omg. Charlie Hunnam and Antonio Banderas and the book has been rather awesome so far (I just picked it up today). I'm so in love with the idea of this movie. The casting is supposedly to be announced soon but here (http://community.livejournal.com/hunnamfans/34616.html) is a bit more info on it. And by a "bit" - I mean a smidge. No one seems to know anything official about this movie, just that it's going to be made.

charlie junnam seems very pretty. and i can actually see antonio banderas as hadrian. oh, i loved reading 'memoirs of hadrian' and marguerite yourcenar is such a fantastic writer. did you know she was the first woman accepted at the french academy? you should also definitely read 'l'oeuvre au noir' (i'm not sure of the title in english).
oh, i cannot wait to see a trailer!

I met some people (through friends) who were visiting the area last week who were totally mocking our monsoon. They weren't here for last night's insanity though. We lost power. Lost a bunch of sand out of our flagstone walk way. It was nuts.

I LOVE Christian Bale like Kate Moss loves cocaine. And I haven't seen the movie yet! My friends went to the midnight show on Thursday and I just can't stay up that late. Though I doubt I would have fallen asleep at all, I would have been in heaven.

OH a tattoo!!! That is so cool! Do you know what you are going to get?

A job in London would have been kick ass! But yeah it is crazy expensive to live there. Something will work out and you will have a good job by 2009. I'll think positive thoughts for you.
