slashfest Round VI closed and only 18 banned so far. Every round, that number seems to go down. Now comes the fun part of figuring out who is a member or not and what prompts to purge.

hd_worldcup had its submission deadline and dude. The quality of the fic and artwork. I'm just beyond impressed with the submissions. Best part of this deadline? Only like 7 people didn't make it. One of them, I'm rather worried about as its just not "in character". So, I'm hopeful that it's just gmail eating the email.

I'm working like a crazy mofo right now. 91 hours clocked last week between the two jobs. This week? IDEK. I have 34 hours at Fry's and 40 at the main job scheduled but with the hoarding case, IDEK about the main job. I have to be there around 7am tomorrow. Thank the fucking maker for the co-mods at hd_worldcup because without them? I'd be insane. They deserve so many kudos.

I have thoughts and updates and reflections on this hoarding case but I can't seem to find the words. It's been such a tumultuous and emotionally draining time that the words just won't come. There are these high moments and these low moments that I keep going through and it's hard to convey what's happening. I'm overwhelmed (in a bad way) and overwhelmed (in a good way). I'm so thankful to those of you that have donated or have promised to. HSSA has collected about 150k in donations so far but it's going to cost about 500k to take care of this situation.

The birds are in dire straits and not getting near the press time that the puppies have. Part of that is that puppies are way cuter so give better press but part of that is also because the birds are in seclusion. To put it mildly, the birds are in AWFUL shape. The air was so polluted with ammonia that it was killing the birds. Add in the neglect (lack of water and food) and the filth of their own waste and these poor things were NOT in a good situation.

HSSA adopted out all the adoptable dogs from the hoarding case but it still has loads of dogs from the pitbull seizure still available. HSSA was at almost full capacity BEFORE this hoarding case so it's still overwhelming on current abilities to deal with all of this. The triage shelter is still open with the mothers and their puppies and then all the sick dogs that can't be adopted just yet.

So I did have a partial update on the animals, just not on how the various animal frontline staff are doing.

I've been trying to keep up with the flist but I'm failing miserably. I missed all of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. LJ won't let me scroll back that far :/. I'm so sorry if something happened and I didn't comment. Feel free to link me and/or beat me with a wet noodle. How are all of you?

i'm so excited about the worldcup! i'm a little worried about the lengthts of the fics and not being able to keep up with reading, though. how many fics will be posted every day?

There will be four fics on Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday with Artwork being posted on Saturdays. We tried to space it out so there was a "fair" amount of time in between. Posting should go about 5 weeks.

:D We're posting all the fics at one time so they all get the same amount of time and to keep the playing field level.

Then, we're also going to try to get the prompts with the biggest fics posted on Thursday so that watchers have Thurs/Fri/Saturday to catch up. That's why the posting schedule hasn't been announced. We're working on it right now.

Er, as for me - I move in 72 hours so I've got to get to packing (as to where I'm going to put Lucius's Cane or Maul's Double lightsabre is anyones guess!) - I am uber-excited and stressed and just *splodey* over everything. Finally, I'm going to have my own house!

I'm so sorry to hear about the birds. As someone who was raised with birds, I noticed when they didn't mention them in the news reports and hoped that meant they were okay. :/

I hope they're able to make swift recoveries. :(

I *am* pleased that the donations are currently coming in! It's wonderful when people come together in these situations.

Is it true that the dogs are all Small? We are looking for a golden or annother lab/golden mix because hero needs someone he can't accidetally squash, and wont be beaten up by the cats

Damn woman. You have quite a lot on your plate. You're doing a good job in keeping it together though.

Those animals though. It really does make me sad. Hence, I do hope things do look up in the bright light.

I'm really excited for hd_worldcup! Definitely something to look forward to before exams start up again in April. It has been so long since I've been able to get into any fics or artwork for that matter.

As for me...it has all been about school. And not getting enough money from tax returns. Meh. Whatevers. Quite stressful without a job while going to uni. It could be worse. It's the matter of getting the grades up though.
