welcome and a few notes

I've noticed that my flist has recently jumped about 10 people and so, to all those new to my journal, welcome! To those familiar with me, err, welcome as well!

You'll find plenty of fic here as well as a ton of recc's. I find quite a few things entertaining so I do commentary on them fairly often. I also work in an animal shelter so be prepared for plenty of animal related stories. I also post about my RL as well as other random goings on.

Since there are so many new people, feel free to drop me a line and tell me about yourself. To aid in this, why not tell me what song I should think of when I think of you? So, comment with a song title and artist that you think sums you up the best. Bonus points if you YSI it to me but that's not necessary. (this idea is shamelessly stolen from emmagrant01)



A list of things about me.

1.) I love... water chesnuts, H/D, chinese food, italian food, potato chips, H/D, hp_bb, my dogs, my flist, H/D, shoes. (and all that other stuff I have listed in my interests)
2.) I hate... bad drivers, other drivers, traffic, bad pr0n, being sick, my job (at times), posers, dishonesty
3.) I need... money, food, shelter, clothing, shoes, H/D
4.) I want... See my needs in addition to a different job and a college degree.
5.) I dream... World peace or at least the US without wanker President Bush, about humans treating other humans AS humans, a world without authorized and endorsed torture or even torture of any kind, H/D, H/D/Blaise in hp_bb (come on, boys, if you're reading this... make a girl's dream come true, yeah?), about more time in the day so I can keep up with fandom.



Not sure if I said this but I'm now the maintainer for slashfest so, err, you all are going to participate when it starts on May 28th, right? *puppy dog eyes*.

So, even those that never comment, let me know what you think I should know about you! I'm friendly, honest, I haven't ripped out an arm in a really long time (if you don't count the jackass in front of me this morning going 35 in a 65 zone).

Here in OZ voting is compulsory, except if you've come from another country and havent been mad a citizen. I just drives me nuts how people can bitch and moan about the country they live in when thy do nothing to help shape its government.

As for the SW series, I am so going to Sydney to try and be an extra or something. Must see, must do.

Question. Slashfest? Uh, forgive my ignorance, but what, where, when, how? Am happy to be involved in some way.

slashfest is a give a scenario and then someone writes it multi-fandom type thing.

So, say you want to see a Luke/Wedge lovefest, you'd request that. Then, people from all these fandoms would be all YAY, I'll write it. Then, they have a certain amount of time to write it in.

That's the quick quick version of it. I'll be posting more info as the start time gets closer.
