So, I work in a small office of four people. Three of us are full-time and one of us is part-time.

The part-time person went on vacation two weeks ago and I've been covering for her with the understanding that she'd be back on this past Tuesday at 8:45 am.

Miss L (de, mind if I steal the terminology?) sends my boss an email at 9:10 that she won't be in... forever. As in, she ain't coming back to Tucson ever. She's left her stuff, her car, her boyfriend and her dog.

My first thought is...what's she doing about her dog. My second thought was "oh shit". As in... "oh shit, I'm going to get stuck covering for her until we hire someone new". As in... "oh shit, we're closing the month and I haven't even started some of my work cause I'm covering for the asshat". As in... JESUS SODDING CHRIST I HAVE TO WORK 12 HOUR DAYS FOR THE NEXT MONTH PLUS SUNDAYS!

So... I will have no life. Not that I had much of one before but this... this takes the sodding cake.

At least I turned down the salaried status that I was offered. At least I get overtime. I figure I'll net about 800 bucks extra from this craptacular experience.

So - err, yeah. I'm writing to distract myself but everything is turning out angry or resigned right now... I think, for once, my mood is affecting what I'm writing.

Sorry about the whinging but I feel better.

Oh that sucks! At least I went back to work after Paris, even if I was a day later than they expected.

i hope you will hire someone really quickly so that you won't have to do all that overtime for as long as you think!

Oh dammit. That really sucks. Whinge all you want. I would go totally batshit insane if I had to work that many hours. I have a hard enough time putting in 8 hours. And that 8 hours includes many, many breaks to goof off and play foosball. :P


I am exhausted and going to bed. Head hurts sooo much. *whimpers*

Terminology is totally stealable. I didn't patent it for sure.
And, that sucks hardcore. I wish that Ms. T would just up and leave so we could hire someone new because I already do all that covering for her, but I totally understand.
