Nothing Gold Can Stay - a Post HBP Canon Compliant RPG



Two years ago, the unthinkable happened. During an incursion into Malfoy Manor, Harry Potter died at the hands of Voldemort. The Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore's Army fled for their lives throughout the world. Slowly, they returned to England, most denying involvement and asking for entrance in the new world order. Some are prisoners of the Death Eaters, some are dead. The rest remain scattered.

The Death Eaters are now the institution. Voldemort stays hidden in a bunker, his top leiutenants the only ones with the ability to contact him.

There is still hope as Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and Ginny Weasley reunite with a plan that was unthinkable. Innocence is lost and Nothing Gold Can Stay.

Applications are being accepted now for every character other than Voldemort, Bellatrix, Luna and Ginny (and Harry). We're especially looking for Hermione, Ron, Snape, Draco, Rabastan, Lucius, Percy, Peter Pettigrew, Tonks, Mad-Eye Moody, and Fred and George Weasley (to be played separately).

I'm opening this up to the flist first as I love you guys...

The future plot is partially inspired by a variety of things - V for Vendetta, Schindler's List, Last of the Mohicans (yeah, it fits, I promise) and a bunch of chats. We've amazing things planned and if you've never rp'd before, that's cool :).

We're really planning some really cool things for this rpg. I've not really seen one touch on what we've got planned yet so hopefully it's a fairly unique premise/plot. I've seen loads of post-war voldie won rpgs and I've been in one but this one will be super-keen-cool ;)

It's Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost. It's a brilliant poem... it was used in The Outsiders.

Also - anael wrote a brilliant work (http://anael.livejournal.com/149507.html) called Nothing Gold Can Stay that's inspired by the same poem, while I'm pimping ;). It's Oliver Wood/Cedric Diggory. It's absolutely brilliant and totally deserves to be read.

Did you read the plot summary on the userinfo? I ask because other than the Voldemort Won premise, it's not at all like ITN or any other game because of the unique plotpoints written into the summary, let alone the planned plots in the next few months. We did that specifically because we want to be unique. We looked at a variety of games out there that are the Voldemort Won premise and specifically made sure to not copy the ideas.

To give just a few examples of how ITN and Nothing Gold differs (and these should have been readily apparent from reading the userinfo summary) - we razed Hogwarts to the ground, most people adapted to the new government and are not part of the resistance, there is a "puppet on the throne" and Fred and George Weasley work for the Death Eater government.
