Assist-to-sell and help-u-sell, et al, are pretty scammish in most places that I've been, so I'm not surprised. (Disclaimer: my step-mom is a realtor and I used to work as a real estate assistant. My mom is a secretary for a realtor and my MIL used to be a realtor before she started teaching. So I'm biased, yeah.) It's one of those things where, if you're in the industry and you want to warn people, you can't because they don't want to hear it. Clients think you're just trying to not lose their business. But what often ends up happening is these Assist-a-sale places make a mess of things, costing the client more money, and then an actual realtor has to clean up the mess. The realtor and the client both end up doing more work than would have originally been necessary but neither party makes the profit that you would expect to make when you put that much work into something.
