I'd really enjoy reading Kirk/McCoy as older men still together. I read a one-shot with them retiring before, but I can't remember the title or the author at the moment. It was really good. Other than that, I'm having trouble thinking of any where they were old/wrinkled/been together forever like. I wouldn't know about not together/regrets because that'd make me incredibly sad and cry.
Also, I saw that book available on some site and am really glad I didn't buy it. Sounds horrible. I went through and got several ebooks a few weeks ago and I've read much better fanfic than at least half of the original ebooks.
