Dear GLAAD,

An apology? That's it? Really? Howard Stern gets fired for talking about sex. Don Imus gets fired for saying "nappy haired hos". These guys just get to apologize and move the fuck on? Seriously? They need to be fired, not given the opportunity to say some heidipology and move the fuck on.

This is just terrible. There's so much pain and confusion for parents and trans children already, this sort of attack just exacerbates the situation so much. :(

Good news for Chipotle and Chipotle lovers, but that's about it. :/

I did find this is on a link trail and found it interesting. If you can, I recommend listening to the broadcast. It's just tough because it's clear that both sets of parents genuinely love and want to help their children and this just a heartbreaking thing. :(

This is sick. Like, it actually makes me feel sick to my stomach. I am outraged that they were not fired, but at the same time, not surprised. I'm also surprised that your post is the first I've even heard about this.

And to add to the sad-making, I can't go to the GLAAD link because their site is blocked by mywork. Forbidden Category reason: Gay & Lesbian Issues. Gee, thanks workplace. Guess I will be re-starting my job search now. >:|

One of my best friends is trans, and omg he goes through so much SHIT, that to say he should have been bullied EARLIER??!? wtf. I just. this sort of stuff just makes me cry. like the Tiller murder. Why do people have to hate things that are different? I saw this earlier, and I'm still so fucking upset that I can't even bring myself to deal with it.

That's terrible, and absolutely inexcusable! For a public figure to say something like that, knowing that they're reaching thousands and actually have a big effect on people, and then get away with it, save for a measly apology? That's absolutely ridiculous!! People have indeed got fired for less. Nobody should be allowed to get away with something like this!

I had Sonic for breakfast today. It was AWESOME. Then I called AT&T and said thank you for pulling your advertising as a follow up to my "I've been a customer for 14 years and so help me god if you have been using my money to advertise hate speech, I am leaving and never coming back" conversation.

I'm so upset still but at least the massive response on the other post is helping me cope.
