Zero at the Bone - is a brilliant read. I heartily recommend it. It features a hitman and a maxillofacial surgeon. Yeah, I know. How the hell does that work? See, the hitman is sent after the surgeon cause the surgeon saw something he shouldn't have. It just flows, oh man does it flow. It's got brilliant pacing, wonderful characters, an engrossing plotline and more.

I'm eager for a sequel. The book ends on a slight angsty note, like the author knows, like the readers, that this might not work out for long, that they'll have to keep fighting to keep the relationship. D isn't good with people and Jack is getting tired of always reassuring D that he loves him. D keeps trying to push Jack away and I'm afraid, near the end, that it's starting to work.

There are some short stories on the author's website. I'm not certain that I like the way that the relationship is going but I can understand it and appreciate the realism. They're fighting and snipping and I think it's partly due to always being separated. However, I really think they're going to work this out.

The book reminds me a bit of the Administration Series in the psychopath/borderline psychopath and the way that there's a disconnect with emotions, they just know what they know and it's hard to go back to being 'normal'. I really liked D, even if he is a hitman/contract killer. I loved Jack with his sense of justice. They're both awesome in their own ways. A definite enjoyable read that is heartily recommended. If I could score it higher, I would. But, it's a a million 10 out of 10.

I just went to that website and it was on the "new releases" page. <3 I hadn't heard a thing about it except for that. I dl'd the adobe file ebook. It was easy peasy!

What all has this author written? I'm anxious to read more of her stuff. She's got a very nice and enjoyable style.

:-D I bought this this other night and you're right... it was brilliant. Thank you for the reviews and for your help explaining the Dreamspinners site. I did buy Tigers and Devils a couple of weeks ago and I loved it too, but I think that Zero to the Bone wins, great storyline, it hooked me in and kept me glued to the screen, and it was full of angsty goodness (g). I was almost finish reading when I reread this review and saw you talked about the relationship's problems. I was really worried that the story was going to have a really unsatisfactory ending, but I ended up liking it in spite of the issues between them and the way she left it open for a sequel.

At the moment I'm trying to restrain myself from going and buying everything you've recced all at once! But I think I will definately have to buy one you mentioned in the rec post with Tigers and Devils, I think it was about baseball?

It really is. The characters are addictive. I went to the author's website and saw the plans for a sequel and I cannot wait!

Ooooh, yeah. Caught Running. It's EXCELLENT! A very good choice!

Dreamspinner's website is horrible to use. They really need to update their ordering/interface so I'm always happy to help out :D
