Random Update
Jan. 6th, 2008 12:16 amI'm desperately behind on comments and emails. I will get to them, I promise.
That out of the way, OMG do I owe
mizthang_88 and
why_me_why_not because they seriously saved my ass on Thursday. Stupid me totally interpreted midnight wrong and was stuck working on this past (and the future) Thursday when...
slashfest opens its doors for the various rounds. Without hesitation, these two waded in and took over coding the requests and they've promised to do the same for the claiming as well. So, big rounds of thanks to the pair of them.
Go forth and request that scenario you'd like to see out there but just don't have the time to write yourself. There have been some really good ones so far but there's always room for one more. Requests open until January 8th at 11:59pm.
Had my first couple days at Fry's. Learned that the rest of the store thinks that those of us in the Home Department are entitlement h0rs who don't work for a living. Seems that the Home Department doesn't have to ask for breaks, get to wander at will to face and explore and, basically, have lax managers who don't give a shit how long it takes you to do your job, just get it done. I folded towels for 3 hours the first night. That translates to 400 towels after I started counting. Second night (last night) I was at the store until midnight. So, I stocked assloads of health and beauty shit (like shampoo and soaps and stuffs). boring. The night stockers were all a bunch of pissy bitches who got mad when I went to leave. Their manager told me my shift wasn't over. AHAHAHA, bitch. So I pointed out that I'd been there since 6pm and that it was time for me to go. They finally let me out of the store to go home at about 12:15. I didn't clock out until we were done arguing about whether or not I was allowed to leave. Went to Fry's tonight to pick up juice and dinner and my manager pulled me aside and apologized for the argument and said she explained that I was splitting the two shifts and stuffs. So, that's cool.
First time ever, I have to go get my car tested for emissions. UGH. Not about the whole concept of testing but about having to do it. There's only two stations and one is by the waste treatment plant and the other is on the wrong side of town. So, I'm screwed either way. Plus, their hours are ridiculous. (they're only open until 4 except on whatever day and then they're open until blah and blah but not on this second tuesday of the third month or what the fuck ever).
Anyone remember The Last Starfighter? Just rewatched it last night and omg, so good. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it. The surprising thing is that it was made in 1984 and, for the most part, the animation stands up to the test of time. I know, color me shocked, too. I love that movie. It's sort of Tron and Star Wars and silly video game movies and cheese all wrapped into one delectable package. It's a light watch, nothing that requires brain function, really, but still totally worth it. I highly recommend that you go forth and rent if you like sort of sci-fi and fantasy squashes.
Got my prompt at
picfor1000. It's better than last year's ass. (for those not around, it really was a donkey/ass sort of thing)
( under the cut )
Not sure what fandom to write in but it's an interesting photo. I'm sort of hopeful something at
slashfest fits the prompt as well. Two birds, one stone.
( health update. Cut to spare the uninterested )
