random update

Picspam coming tomorrow/later today...whenever I get to work to be able to upload the pix on something other than dial-up.

Also - I broke my nose on Saturday and ended up going to Urgent Care to get it fixed. I also have a knee imobolizer on because I fucked up my left leg. It's also purple from mid-calf the whole way down the back of my leg. It's a sad day when the right side of my body is the healthy half (I've had a total of 4 surgeries on the right side of my body due to joint issues).

The reason for the broken nose and leg imobilisation? I bought a new bed and the sodding queen sized mattress, box springs and supports fell on me when I was attempting to move a table and turned my back on them. It all came down on the back of my leg and knocked it out from under me, causing me to faceplant into a toychest.

I almost passed out (ok, I did pass out) from the blood streaming from my nose. I hate seeing blood, let alone my own. Hence why bloodplay is not one of my kinks.

That being said, I still painted two bathrooms today. I have to paint two bedrooms next weekend because we're selling this house and there are a lot of people who don't seem to care for aquamarine and lime green for some reason. I don't get it, in all honesty. I like bright colours everywhere in my house, thank you very much. I now have tan everywhere and it's depressing. It could be worse, I suppose, the walls could be white *shudders*.

Also - hd_remix finally had a breakthrough. I promise, it shall be submitted in a mockery of on time if you take the multiple extensions into account.

slashfest will get done this week as well. I just need to rewatch X-men 2.

7_deadly_sins_ - I signed up for Monaboyd RPS... someone shoot me now. But, I had a brilliant idea that I scribbled down (thankfully) and will be writing it when I have my claim accepted.

Voldemort split his soul into a proposed 7 Horcruxes. Then he was "killed" by Harry.

When he was "killed", does that mean he used one of the Horcruxes so that there were only 6 for Harry and Dumbledore to destroy?

If he didn't, then how did he survive? Shouldn't his soul have been so weakened from being split up like that that he couldn't have survived without using one of his Horcruxes?

If he did, which one did he use?

Am I just being a moron because there's an obvious answer somewhere in the books that I didn't see? Has this been debated a gadzillion times and I just didn't pay attention?

First - please to be excusing typos (and rambling) here. I've just taken my night-time painkillers and my brain is mush but I have to get this out...

A while back, back when I was basically a n00b to fandom, I signed up for slashfest and claimed something by furiosity. The story that came out of it is Hands that I was and still am fairly proud of. It was one of the first things I ever had rec'd in a newsletter and I still have the issue bookmarked (yes, ok, I'm a dork).

Fast forward to hd_remix where I didn't list any safe stories. I put my faith in the other writers and decided to let them have free reign/rein/rain (sod it if I can remember which one I mean right now). If I had picked safe stories, there were two that I would have chosen - Hands and Moments.

The Months of Poker in Manchester takes Hands and improves it so very much that I really can't claim the original because the remix is so much more than anything I could possibly have ever written. I'm so very glad I didn't pick any safe stories. I would have hated to miss out on this.

The story is sharp, witty, and amazing. I pinged quite a few people on my flist begging for help in what to say because, honestly, all I could think was "fucking brilliant". This truly is fucking brilliant and you seriously will not be disappointed in it.

There are so many little details that the anonymous author has incorporated in here to make this hers (his) that she (he) has overwhelmed me. She (He) makes my dialogue seem witty and painful but true, so very very true to how I see Harry and Draco. They're dysfunctional and symbiotic and breathtaking. I must have stared at the screen for a good long while just absorbing the entirety of this.

I hope every single person that participates in hd_remix gets something equally as amazing as what I received.

Also - have a song. It's from The Constant Gardener and is Justin's Lament. I've had this on repeat all day as I've been writing. Painful and beautiful.
