So Dominic Monaghan is having an exhibition of his photographs. You can view it here. I'm thinking I have to take a roadtrip to LA. Does anyone live around there that might be willing to house me for, say, a very late friday night until Sunday before the end of April?
My little shipper heart is all asquee at it. Mainly for this photo which is called improving perfection and is Billy Boyd. Or this one which is "Must be Love" and is Billy and Dom. *sigh*
Speaking of shipper glee - Go Team Post Hogwarts!
rs_games have announced prompts and team members.
Speaking of shipper glee part 2 - Go Team
hd_worldcup! OMG SO EXCITED!!! The submissions are pouring in and I really think that people are going to be wicked impressed with them. I know I'm in love with the ones that have already been submitted.
Speaking of
hd_worldcup - please consider this my official announcement that, after discussions with the other mods, in the interest of fairplay and not showing any sort of bias, none of us will not be commenting or rec'ing any story from
hd_worldcup during the voting period. After the voting is done, I shall probably be posting a huge reclist and going back and commenting.
Expect fic reposting tomorrow or so. Am too tired to do it today. WAY too tired. I fell asleep at 6 last night and didn't get up until 8ish. Watched New Amsterdam (is anyone else watching this? Do you like it? Do you hate it?) Then went right back to sleep after posting a few housekeeping things at various comms.
Final note of this hodgepodge mishmash post - I can feel my collarbones and it's sort of freaking me out. I keep forgetting that I don't have thatmassive layer of fat over it anymore so I go to scratch or something and I can feel it and I have this moment of o.O wtf? and then realize that the hard thing is my bone. Same deal with feeling a rib. I think bones are like children - meant to be seen, not felt *winks*.
ETA: Saw this linked on a flist member's journal. Gary Gygax Tribute Comic and omg, such a fantastic way of doing it. The man gave me some of my happiest memories as a child. My family played D&D all the time. I had an elf fighter/thief/magic user and his name was Prince Nathaniel (I was 4, give me a break on the Gary Stu, ok?). He looked a lot like Legolas (but with dark brown hair) and everyone called him Scaredy Cat cause I always balked at battle cause I didn't want to get him killed. But my sister's STUPID dwarf (nickname: Squeaky cause he had squeaky armor) always got detected by whatever we were trying to run away from. Poor Scaredy Cat/Nathaniel nearly bit it a few times. I cried myself to sleep on those nights. I was really attached (I was 14, give me a break on the emo *winks*). Anyone have any fun D&D stories?

Date: 2008-03-07 05:31 pm (UTC)And man, seeing those Billy pics actually made me want to write Dom/Billy for the first time (though it would probably be Dom having a hopeless crush on his totally straight friend XD).

Date: 2008-03-07 05:04 pm (UTC)Ahh, D&D. Yes, I was that dork in high school. We played in my friend's (furnished) basement, ordered enough pizza and soda to get us through the night, and usually ended up laughing ourselves silly by 2am. That was my bonding time with "the guys" (because of course I was the only female who would play) and I wouldn't have given it up for anything :D
I usually played half-elves or humans, who were usually rangers and monks, respectively. I had the most fun with a female monk who had a demeanor reminiscent of Seven of Nine, from Voyager (HUGE DORK ::points at self::). Oh man, the flashbacks...

Date: 2008-03-07 05:32 pm (UTC)Oh man! D&D was so much fun. I played with friends in the furnished basement, too :D:D:D Of course they were all dudes and of course I was the only girl and of course we were in costume! OMG the times, the good good times!
I always played elves and they were always absolutely beautiful, even the boys. Though I did have one human who reminded me a lot of Gambit with the long red hair and the crazy eyes and stuffs.
Let us dork out together, then!

Date: 2008-03-07 06:06 pm (UTC)I got into D&D in college. My ex introduced me to it. There was a story about him and his friends playing this marathon D&D game one time, and mid-second-day, this guy gets up and says, "Holy Crap, I have a final in half an hour!"
The rest of them said, "Uh oh - it's finals week??"
I still play, but not with him.

Date: 2008-03-13 07:08 pm (UTC)Please don't call me stupid - but who is Gary Gygax? Everyone is posting about him - even those who have nothing to do with fandom. XD
