Random Fandom Babble

I don't know how I feel about the SUP buyout of LJ. I have to admit that the first thing I did when I heard about it was to check fandom_wank and 6a_cornfield over at JF. Must admit that I'm mildly disappointed that it's only on otf_wank. *woe and alas*
However, between the buyout and the suspension of a mod at a comm for the contents of a post, well, I wibbled over the
hd_worldcup last night. A lot. Poor
xylodemon had to put up with quite a bit of it. After talking with xylo and a bunch of other people, I emailed Feei late last night and then today, we decided to move the whole thing, kit and kaboodle, to IJ just on the off-chance anything should happen in the future. I figured since we hadn't started pimping it yet and the invitations hadn't gone out and applications hadn't opened and............. that now was the best time to do the move. This way, maybe we'll get even more artists interested in participating.
So far, the response has been positive to the move. Now, hopefully, that positive response continues into participation levels (artist, writer and reader).
I created my first RSS feed. Of course it was for the worldcup. Add it - here.
Have I mentioned that
red_rahl is doing the artwork for all the banners? She is made of win. The banners and such are turning out awesome so far and I cannot wait to see the final products :D:D:D.
I'm going to start making use of my IJ. I'll start by uploading some of my favorite fics I've written and then move on from there. Some of it won't get posted anywhere else as some of it is painful when looking back at it.
I've also started archiving at The Quidditch Pitch and have uploaded my first fic. You can find me here. The upload process was a wee bit confusing but I think I did it right. At least, it looks right to me. I'm going to upload my second story tonight. I keep hearing wonderful things about TQP.
I'm over 44k on that deamus and 3k on each of my daily_deviant fics. The January one is sort of a cracktacular pairing and scenario but I'm hoping people will give it a try anyway as it really is serious and angsty.
I've been doing fairly well at my "reading and commenting" request. So far, so good. Haven't skipped a one though there was one that sat open in a tab for a couple of days while I thought of what to say.
How's everyone?

Date: 2007-12-04 04:59 am (UTC)i'm already behind on reading holiday fics because every one of them seems to be over 10,000 words, and oh man, that is a lot of reading. i also feel that the first few fics always get a gazillion comments because people are excited. so i'm holding on to my commenting endurance for fics that get posted later.

Date: 2007-12-04 05:40 am (UTC)In regards to the selloff (ie: we can't deal with these fandomers anymore lets dump them on those pesky Ruskies) I dunno - may be good, may be bad. I think we'll just have to let the dust settle. It was def a good idea to move the Comm over to IJ though, just in case. It's just, I don't know if I wanna move over to IJ just yet, but I suppose the day will comem soon. I am not, will not and absolutely refuse to put that stupid 14 and over/under crap on my posts. I already warn and cut, and if that's not good enough then to bad.
I'm over 44k on that deamus - *blinks* - *drools* - Ooh, it's getting so BIG *applauds and prods*
p.s. - did you see my uberangsty!seamus fic Bitter/Sweet
