wook77Loads of stuff going on. I haven't checked my flist in quite awhile so I'll be slowly going through it tonight. I have plenty of stuff to update on but I don't quite know where to start. Biggest thing is the social life right now. I've a story to post as well as soon as I find my damn thumbdrive.
Cobra Girl introduced me to HRAFB (Hot Royal Air Force Boy) a week and a bit ago and we've been getting on fairly well. He's funny and witty and, needless to say by his name, quite attractive. We ended up hanging out at my house for part of the weekend and he makes quite the comfortable pillow. I spent most of Saturday napping on top of his chest.
He's very courteous which is a nice change. It's just too bad that he'll be going back to England in a little over a week as I've enjoyed spending time with him. He's very personable and funny. He's got a fairly wicked sense of humor and keeps me laughing. Add to it that he's a very good kisser and things just get better and better.
We went to see Rush Hour 3 on Friday so expect a review shortly. We then went to a baseball game on Saturday night. Thankfully, it didn't rain though I was promised a punishment if it did so I guess I missed out there *winks*. But yes, the game got a bit boring in the middle. There was this annoying woman behind us, though, and she kept things interesting until Tucson tied the score and the drunk people that were heckling the other team were tossed out. Plenty of entertainment in the latter part of the game.
I did a bit of a fuck-up too. He asked for my myspace link and, well, it's the same username. Turns out that his google-fu is quite strong. He's already googled my real name and now he's found this journal *waves*. He seems alright with the boykissing and the buttsex content. (I know, rare find, right?) I keep trying to get him to watch that clip I uploaded a bit ago (the one with the hot "straight" rugby boys kissing and giving each other handjobs on the dance floor). It's a no-go so far. He's a wee bit vanilla but maybe I can work on that..........
We're going to be going hiking coming up this weekend and then it's off to the drive-in. I haven't been to a drive-in since I was in high school but this one (I've been told) is fairly clean and safe so I'm looking forward to it.
In other news that's deserving of being outside a cut as I'm so excited over it – on Friday, I had a blow-out on my one front tire. (That's not the part that makes me excited) After a panicked pull-over, a call to HRAFB to come bail me out and then a call to my dad to see about lending me money to get my tire fixed, I decided to at least start on my tire.
Well. I just so happened to have changed my own tire ON MY OWN. From start to finish, I did it! Now, some of you are probably rolling your eyes because you've done it before… but I'm a complete girl when it comes to this sort of thing. Hello, it's dirty, for one. For two, those lugnuts are on there TIGHT and for three, I'm a weakling. I got the lugnuts off by standing on the wrench and bouncing. Figured out the jack (which was sort of complicated with having to build a doohickey to raise and lower it) and then changed the tire. I put the lugnuts back on, bounced on it quite a bit to tighten them and then, err, had HRAFB check to make sure I did it right. I might be proud of myself but I'm not stupid, I'm going to have someone doublecheck my work on this sort of thing.
So, yes, let me reiterate. I changed my tire all by myself! *buffs nails*
I had another set-to with SLL. On Friday, I asked SLL about her lack of completion on a project I requested in February. It's a fairly simple project. I asked her to change a few vendor names. I got nothing back from her. I've been asking every month and… nothing. So, on Friday, I asked her if she'd finally done it (she hadn't), she snapped back with a condescending "dear" (a form of address that she agreed to never use again ever ever ever) and then immediately did this sarcastic "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry" thing. Fucking twunting bitch. So I went into the boss's office and talked to her about it.
We decided that part of the reason that she addresses me like that is that she's intimidated. She knows she's fucking up and she's lashing out to be protective of herself. Boss asked me how I'd like to handle it and I said that I'd like to address the problem that causes her to lash out and that's her fucking up. Boss nods and gets this odd expression. I'm all, is that not how you want to handle it? She says, nope, that's the response I was looking for, actually.
Then she adds - Oh and by the way, we're going to be promoting you. I'll give you a second to absorb that. I'm finally getting the promotion/recognition for a job I've been doing since at least February if not longer. I'm really really excited! Better pay and a nifty title that I get to design myself. I was thinking "Supreme Chancellor of the Universe" but thought maybe it was a bit self-important. *grins* It ended up being "Finance Office Lead" and as soon as I have an employee to manage, it'll be changed to "Assistant Finance Manager".
CB (Cool Boss) wants me to go to a few management seminars because I "have an abrupt personality" and that it can be "a bit abrasive". Err, duh? That's part of my charm? Anyway, so yes, I'll eventually have employees under me and have to do reviews and stuff but for now, it's more overseeing daily duties of the office to let CB do her job, which is liasoning with the Board and the bank and such. Hello, payraise, I can't wait to get to know you.
I have assloads of fic due and I've not moved on any of it as I'm spending as much free time as possible with HRAFB. I can't say that I regret that. It's nice to spend time with him and fic can be delayed a bit. I think that the mods of the different comms will be a-ok with it as I've already requested deadline extensions from some of them and some of them extended deadlines without having to ask.
How are all you guys? I've missed you.

3. *grins* - isn't it just very smexy? I've got a few more, i will have to start using them cause they are all good. It's from the UK show Skins - which I have been on the fandom wagon from day dot. The taller dark haired guy is Tony and the shorter blonde is Maxxie... and ZOMG!! the whole storyline between the two of them is *thud* *picks self up* T is straight and M is gay and yet it's T that comes onto M... so much fun to be had with writing them. I wrote a RPS of what happens after that scene last week(quite good reviews I might add.) and there are plenty of other Skins fics on my LJ.Skins Fics. - I'd probably recommend the Laws of Physics (for story) and maybe the In Character (if you're after a bit of smut *grin*)
I am just so in love with the show and the few flisters who i've converted or found (as you will see by comments to my fics) are are just as enamoured. You could probably find excerpts on YouTube but I think they took alot of them off there - everyone was posting it and it's only in the UK and they got cranky - that's why I just d/l of a torrent.
