[livejournal.com profile] anasuede sent me an invite to shelfari and I signed up for it. It's interesting to keep track of the books I've read and be able to rate/see what everyone else rated books. So, if you sign up, feel free to friend me - I'm wook77 on there as well.

As it stands - I'm currently at 41 books and 30 movies for the year so far. The resolution was for 50 of each so I think this just might be a resolution I can complete unlike the resolution to lose weight. Anyone want to join in next year?

I have a bunch of resolution reviews to post which will get done as soon as I decide on what I really thought about OotP. Went to see it Saturday morning with [livejournal.com profile] maple_mahogany (for the third time for me). Her sapling was there along with my sister and we had a fantabulous time. Afterwards, when we were discussing Expelliarmus, some dumb bint interrupted and decided to inform us that we shouldn't have any sort of opinion and that we really are only to appreciate the movie as a movie and not as part of a wider book world.

I'm fairly certain that I'm going to be heading down to [livejournal.com profile] maple_mahogany's place for the book release. I will trust that she won't allow me to skip to the last few pages to find out who lives and who dies I shall have to hide in the loo.

This journal will remain spoiler free out of respect of those of you who do not want to be spoiled. That being said - I do want to discuss the book with people so I have a small filter of those that wanted to discuss it post-DH. If you want to be on the filter, send me an email at wook77[at]livejournal[dot]com or comment here.

Finally - my one dog has gotten bit by something at least 6 times on his back and we found a black widow spider on our back porch. The thing is fucking huge. We currently have it in a glass jar so the bug guy can take care of it and confirm that it is a black widow. Considering the giant red hourglass, I'm not really doubting. We had a brown recluse a week or so ago. This living out in the desert shit is for the birds. I want to move back to the old house :/.

With the filter, will you be posting things behind a cut? I will be getting my book early afternoon on Saturday and will be reading as quickly as possible, but I definitely won't be one of the ones done right away. I do want to discuss it, though.

Oh definitely will post behind a cut! I figure I'll probably be done on Saturday morning but I'm also going to be about an hour and a half from home so we'll see on that one.

re: shelfari -- I'm on a similar site called LibraryThing. It's fun to seeh how many other people own the same books etc.. :D

And please put me on the filter? I'd love to read what others thought. I won't be going online until after I've read it (and will need to wait until it gets delivered to my house on Saturday) so that should be fine :D

And I'm sorry about your dog! I hope he/she is all right??

oh yeah? That sounds awesome too. I'm loving the book discussions so far.

I'll be putting you on, then! I cannot wait for this book at all.

He seems good but we had to shave him down to the skin where he was bit so he's irritated with that and with the bites. We're taking him to the vets on monday. He's the only one with bites so far so we're fairly certain it's not the spiders.

I should get back there -- things have been too busy with the thesis :(

Just got the notification about delivery of the book, which made me squee a bit - the date is getting closer and closer!

It's good it's not the spiders *nods* I hope you'll get good news from the vet!

Please add me to your filter - I'd love to see what you think of it. (And if I haven't already flipped to the end by Saturday morning it'll be a miracle).

You can add me to the filter, but I'm not even sure when I'll get the book, much less read it. Spoil me, baby.

YES!!!! The neighbors had a scorpion in their backyard but we had scorpions at the old house and I've seen 'em at work as well so they're everywhere.

I'll add you to the filter :)

Ooh, yes pls, add me to the filter. Spoilers or no, I'm interested. I'm totally the kind of person who reads the end first too.

Yah, you're added.

And yeah, the spiders? They're ginormous too. Totally freaky and something just bit Kuka AGAIN so that's like 7 bites now.

Spiders are yucky. Bahhh. *cringe*

I hate it when people do that with books and movies, and you know, for HP fans, it is a big deal with what is cut out or changed in the movie version of it. And the Wii game too (because I've played it). The books are classic and to find a change it just like, "What just happened?"

Oh, and please add me on the filter, if you will. =)
