mctabby's HP Fandom Friending Frenzy III, I thought this would be a good time to introduce myself to one and all using that "30 Random Things" meme.
So, welcome all and feel free to friend away. If I like your journal or your comments, I shall friend you back. Feel free to leave me information about yourself either here or on my guestbook!!
1. Name someone with the same birthday as you. My birthday is October 23rd. Famous people? Weird Al, Martin Luther King III, Pele, Johnny Carson and Michael Crichton.
2. Where was your first kiss? In the basement of my boyfriends house. I was 15 (yes, late bloomer)
3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property? No, but I do have a habit of walking on railings on balconies.
4. Have you ever hit on someone of the opposite sex? uh, duh? yes.
5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people? Yes, I'm a musical theater geek. I'm a baritone though, so it's hard for me to get roles/chances as it's considered "weird" to have a female singing a male part.
6. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex? Physically? Hair/grooming. Otherwise? Sense of humor. If you can't make me laugh, you don't stand a chance.
7. What really turns you on? kissing - hot, hard, soft, gentle, loving, etc. Turn-off? Having someone chew on my ears. yuck.
8. What do you order at Starbucks? I avoid this chain like the plague. Over-priced commercial conglomerate that drives small local places out of business with sub-par service and sub-par products. They are the Wal*Mart of the coffee world.
9. What is your biggest mistake? This one is hard. I don't really consider anything I've done as a mistake as they're all learning experiences. So, I'll pick an over-riding theme in my life and that's giving up too easily.
10. Ever hurt yourself on purpose? Yep and I won't expand any further.
11. Say something totally random about you. I love cows.
12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity? I get Keira Knightley alot.
13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or tv shows? Considering I'm in the HP Fandom, I will have to answer this as yes. I also like to watch Ewoks, the Animated Series.
14. Did you have braces? Nope, blessed with perfectly straight teeth. Also blessed with above average vision.
15. Are you comfortable with your height? I kinda have to be, don't I? I'm 5 foot 2 3/4 which translates to frikken short.
16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you? Had an ex-fiance drive to my house on a first date with everything to cook me dinner at my apartment (including pots and pans) on the back of his motorcycle. Very romantic.
17. When do you know it's love? I'm better at when I know it's not love so I'm not too sure.
18. Do you speak any other languages? Spanish and French are semi-fluent. I'm teaching myself Arabic and Russian.
19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon? Yep - they were running a special that if you went three times and didn't show any change, you'd get a years worth of free tanning. I didn't show any changes (I'm almost albino white). I got a free year that I then gave to a friend for Christmas.
20. What magazines do you read? GameInformer, Play, Star Wars Insider (I'm a nerd and proud of it :P )
21. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Nope.
22. Has anyone you were really close with passed away? My grandfather, my Uncle (who was more a father to me than my own).
23. Do you watch MTV? Sometimes.
24. What's something that really annoys you? Other drivers, especially the idiots who drive in the left lane when they're not passing anyone. It's a privilege, not a right!!!!
25. What's something you really like? The people in the HP Fandom. They're some of the most awesome people I've ever met.
26. Do you like Michael Jackson? Nope.
27. Can you dance? I do belly dancing and Irish Traditional Dancing. Other than that, I love to head out on a dance floor and let the music take over.
28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up? I've stayed up 70 hours straight. Does that count?
29. Have you ever thought that you were honestly going to die? Yeah, I hit a saguaro cactus in a Geo Metro. The cactus should have gone through my windshield on the passenger side and then killed me. Instead, it shifted off the side of my car and merely broke the mirror off. I've also been in the hospital with concussions, fractured skulls, broken bones, fractured jaws, and more. I've also had 5 car accidents where I've been the driver (none of which are my fault). I was also on a brand new amusement ride (the kind that you loop around really really fast over and over). The shoulder harness broke and I held onto the lap bar with all my might. My dad also locked his arm across my chest from the opposite seat. The dude behind me leaned forward and was holding my shoulders. The dumbass ride operator didn't even notice the shoulder harness hanging in the air. Thankfully, the jackass got fired and i got a free season pass to the amusement park which I made tons of use of.

Date: 2005-10-25 09:59 pm (UTC)I'm trying to find a new troupe here in Tucson to start dancing again. I play the bodhran as well. It was fun when I was dancing to play the bodhran and dance at the same time... didn't see it too often and it helped us win a few competitions.
