Ok, here goes... I'm so pissed right now. Seriously pissed, let me tell you. I'm sick and tired of this "rah rah rah" bullshit that keeps floating around about how if you disagree with Bush then you aren't supporting the troops. One does not equal the other! For fuck's sake, these are the same people that dissed Clinton for the same shit and they were saying then that to support the troops you COULDN'T support the president. So what that Clinton smoked pot, got a blow job and didn't serve in Vietnam. Bush smoked CRACK, cheated on his wife during his "dark days", was arrested for drunk driving, blew off his commitment to serve by not even frikken showing up AND lied about Iraq's involvement in Sept 11th. Soldiers are dying because Bush frikken lied by if you don't take his crock of shit at face value, then you don't support the troops.

What started all this? I got this dumbass forward (I HATE and ABHOR forwards) about some lame article Ben Stein wrote. You know, I like Ben Stein. He's a funny guy, in a deadpan monotone sort of way. I liked him in Ferris Bueller. I liked "Win Ben Stein's Money". I think the guy is super smart. However, I really need to re-evaluate that last bit from reading this forward. In it he goes on about how he's tired of writing about celebrities because the real celebrities are the soldiers. Ok, I'm with him on this.

He goes on about how the "celebrity soldiers" are the ones who die. Like the dude who died to save a little girl from an unexploded piece of ordinance. Hero? Yes. But let's look at why the situation really occurred. The unexploded piece of ordinance was American made and dropped. It should never have been where a child would play, that area should never have been attacked as it was NOT an enemy location. It was a series of family homes. Why wasn't this piece of ordinance cleaned up? The American people are paying sub-contractors to clean this crap up and it's obviously not being done... where are the sub-contractors?

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I really cannot stand people who whine about a situation and do nothing to change it. I was discussing the above with a friend of mine and her comeback was that she doesn't watch the news and/or get involved politically because she doesn't like to hear the bad news. Well, the ostrich in the sand way of combating "bad news" doesn't seem to be working. The situation just keeps getting worse and worse. Don't like hearing bad news about Iraq? Help solve it. There are plenty of letter writing and phone call campaigns. There are protests that can be done. There are volunteering opportunities with organizations like Doctor's without Borders, the Red Cross and a thousand other Aid Organizations.

Sometimes, I really don't like people. Maybe that's why I have animals, not children.
