To Mr. Harry Potter,

Permission has been granted.
Should you require assistance to implement
your plan, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I will send Draco on the mission promptly at One O'clock.

Sincerely,

Mr. Ignatius Crumbaker

Harry grinned at the letter in front of him. It was nice that there were bosses and managers out there that actually appreciated their employees instead of discriminating against them. It had taken him quite a bit of wrangling with Merryweather before Harry had finally gone to Kingsley Shacklebolt. Approval for the afternoon off had come with astonishing speed once the debacle of Valentine's Day had been mentioned. Harry sniggered at the blustering that Merryweather had done while trying to explain why he'd granted permission and then revoked it at the last possible minute for that evening off.

It was now twelve forty-five and Harry waited for the subsequent visit from Draco. He didn't have long to wait. The scurrying of people in the outer office alerted Harry to Draco's coming.

"Potter, a moment, if you please." Draco's voice was staccato sharp and Harry could tell just from his demeanor that he was infuriated.

"Sure, Malfoy, come on in." Harry shut his office door as Draco flung himself into the one spare chair in the cramped office.

"My bloody bleeding buggering boss has decided that I obviously have more important things to do than take a lunch break with you so now I'm being forced to meet a contact for a case that isn't even mine…at Madame Malkin's of all places." Harry barely kept the snicker suppressed.

"Madame Malkin's? Going back to Hogwarts, are we?" This time, Harry couldn't suppress the snigger.

"Don't start on me, Potter." When Draco called him "Potter" in private, Harry knew he was in trouble.

"Right, sure thing, Draco. Well, we'll just reschedule our meal, then." Draco grimaced as he gazed at his watch.

"Shite, I'm going to be late. I have to be there no later than one for some sodding reason." Not even taking the time to say goodbye, Draco flounced out of the office, slamming the door in his wake.

As soon as the door was fully shut, Harry couldn't stop the belly laugh that welled up. The plan was going exactly right.

~~**~~

Harry Apparated into Diagon Alley's Apparition point right on time. Draco had been in Madame Malkin's for approximately fifteen minutes. Even now, his ire should be at their peak. A pissy and grumpy Draco Malfoy was needed for this plan.

The door chimed merrily as Harry walked in. Draco stood on a dais, arms out to his side as the short and squat Madame Malkin herself took his measurements. A disbelieving glare met Harry as Draco looked to the door.

"Harry, my dear, how have you been? Come up here, more than enough room for two. Matching robes, right?" Madame Malkin's voice was cheerful even around the mouthful of pins.

"I'm well, Madame Malkin, thanks. Yes, we'll take the robes." Harry stepped up onto the platform next to Draco.

"What are you doing here, Potter? Is this a set-up?" Draco sneered out of the side of his mouth. A sneering and condescending Malfoy brought back the wanted memories and Harry smiled.

"That's not what you're supposed to say, Draco. Want to start again?" Draco sneered again.

"Fine, then, Draco. I'll start." Harry lifted his arms to allow Madame Malkin's flying tape measure to start taking his measurements. "Going to Hogwarts? You can go from there." Draco cast a suspicious gaze over at Harry.

"Are you mental, Potter? Of course I'm not going to Hogwarts. We're well out of school." Harry sighed.

"Please, there's a reason." Harry's grin faded.

"Why don't you tell it to me?" Draco uncrossed his arm and batted at his flying tape measure.

"Please just play along, Draco."

"Fine, Harry. Going to Hogwarts?" Draco batted once more at his tape measure. "Leave me alone, you annoying piece of shite."

"Yes, I am. Are you?"

"Sure, I'm going." Perhaps Harry had over-calculated the level of snarkiness needed to take Draco back to the annoying and pompous prat he'd been during that first visit so many years ago.

"Has it always been Hogwarts for you?" Draco merely glared. "Please, Draco. There's a point." Harry put the face guaranteed to get Draco's cooperation and suppressed his triumphant grin as Draco's resistance melted.

"My father wanted me to go to Durmstrang but my mother insisted I attend Hogwarts. I'm not sure about it as there have been some fairly barmy students graduating from there." Harry's grin reappeared as Draco played along. The sarcastic tone was different from the arrogant prat he'd first met here, but it still went along with the plan.

"It'll be my first year there. Harry Potter, by the way. I've just found out I'm a Wizard." Harry turned slightly, the tape measure buzzing along in his wake as it snapped and measured.

"Draco Malfoy. What House do you think you'll be sorted into? I'll be in Slytherin. My family has been Slytherin for generations." Madame Malkin didn't blink an eye as the pair of lovers replayed their first conversation from so many years ago.

"I'm not sure about the Houses." Harry grinned and watched as Draco returned it.

"I'm sure you'll be in Hufflepuff. You're barmy enough." Draco snickered. Harry waited for a bit but Draco didn't continue. Madame Malkin and her tape measure disappeared as Harry and Draco stared at each other.

"Would you be willing to help me get acquainted with the Wizard World?" The light dawned on Draco and he held out his hand.

"You'll find out that some Wizards are better than others. I can help you with that." Harry took Draco's hand and shook it.

"Thanks."

"For example, there is a Mister Merryweather that deserves suitable punishments as well as a Mister Crumbaker that is a sneaky git." Draco sneered before turning the face into a conspiratorial smile. Harry didn't let go as they continued to stare at one another.

"What's going on here, Harry?" Draco's voice dropped to a whisper.

"I've always wondered what would have happened if I had taken your hand back then. Now, I'll get to find out." It spoke volumes about their relationship as Draco merely shook his head before squeezing Harry's hand.

"So there is no informant, no contact, and no case?" Harry grin widened at each declaration. "My boss was in on this? That sneaky git, I'll have to see about that." Harry nodded.

"You should've been in Slytherin, Harry." Tugging on their connected hands, Harry pressed his lips lightly to Draco's. A "hum-hum" interrupted the kiss. For a second, Harry remembered Delores Umbridge and the Inquisitorial Squad but squelched those memories. This was about the "what-ifs" not the "what-has-beens".

"Now, now, boys. None of that here. I run a respectable shop, you know." The bite was taken out of Madame Malkin's words as she beamed at them while approaching with robes.

"These are for you." The witch handed one set to Draco. "And these are for you." She handed the other set to Harry. "Have fun, boys. Always a pleasure, Harry."

Draco grimaced when he looked at the robes. They were plain black, a First Year's robes before they had their House assigned and an insignia embroidered.

"Put them on, Draco. I have a surprise planned." Draco shrugged them on and stepped down from the platform.

"Better than this, Harry?" Harry only grinned before grasping Draco's hand.

Harry and Draco walked out into Diagon Alley. Harry led them across the street to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor. It had reopened after the Second War under new management. In honor of Florean, the new owner's had kept the name. They were given large sundaes and found a table in a back corner.

"Are we on a date, Harry?" Draco cocked an eyebrow and Harry smirked.

"We never had a chance to be kids like this, Draco. I wanted to give us an afternoon of forgetting about work and stress. I wanted us to date like we would've if we both hadn't been so stubborn in school."

"You are such a sap, Harry." Placing his hand over Harry's, Draco leaned in and gave Harry a peck. "This has to be the most romantic and silly thing you've ever done."

"Better than the pizza on the rooftop?" Draco laughed so loudly that some of the other patrons looked over.

"Much better than that garlic monstrosity, Potter. Although, I did enjoy seeing the, err, stars up there." Their expressions matched as they remembered the beauty of that night and the shagging afterwards. It had been a good night, even if the pizza had had too much garlic.

Their conversation went from topic to topic, classes they'd enjoyed, pranks that had garnered laughs and grimaces alike and other school topics. The War wasn't touched on, Professor Snape and the events on the Astronomy Tower all those years ago were ignored.

"Come on, I want to steal some kisses in the alley." Draco hauled Harry out of his chair and led him out to the alley beside Fortescue's.

Before Harry could react, Draco had his lips pressed against Harry's, tongue demanding entrance. The kiss became hotter and hotter as hands roamed, pressing against backs, insisting that the two bodies get closer. It was wet and needy with a hint of desperation and love. To Harry, it was perfect.

"Home. Now." Harry barely broke the kiss to hiss out his demand before thrusting his tongue into Draco's mouth. Draco pulled back to moan, "Apparate us" before he continued the kiss.

It wasn't the best Apparition they'd ever done but it worked as they landed in their flat. Harry's shirt disappeared in a ripping flurry of fabric and Draco shrugged out of his robes. Draco pressed until Harry bumped the sofa and then landed on it. Tumbling forward, Draco didn't allow them to break the kiss as hands pressed and ripped and demanded at the clothing.

Finally, they were both naked and Draco gripped one of Harry's legs, pulling it up and over his shoulder. Fingers speared inside of Harry and he moaned at the suddenness.

"I bet your Housemates wouldn't believe that we were shagging, Harry." Draco panted into Harry's ear as he twisted his two and then three fingers inside of Harry.

"Maybe they're the same housemates, Draco." Harry moaned out Draco's name as the fingers disappeared and the blunt tip of Draco's cock bumped his entrance.

"Fuck, all those years of shagging, wasted. You and your stubbornness, Potter. God above, if you had only…"Draco paused to thrust into Harry. "If you had only taken my hand back then, we could've been doing this for years longer."

"But maybe I'd be doing this with Ron instead, Draco. Oh great heaven, do that again!" Draco stopped abruptly.

"You mention Weasley in the middle of a shagging again and I'll bust your nose worse than in Sixth Year." Draco glared down at Harry while Harry smirked.

"Sure thing, Draco, if you'll just continue." Wiggling his arse, Harry insisted that they continue.

Draco picked up the tempo as he thrust, fast and furious. Too soon, Draco cried out in climax. At the feeling of the wetness filling him, Harry whimpered. A pop declared Draco's exit from Harry's body before wet heat engulfed his prick. It only took a few seconds of sucking before Harry came, shooting down Draco's throat.

Their breath raced as Harry rubbed Draco's sweaty hair. Minutes passed as they stayed where they were. The beat of hearts thudded against each other's bodies until Harry sat up abruptly.

"Shite, I forgot. Draco, budge off." Draco merely opened his eyes and looked up at Harry. "Seriously, Draco, budge off."

Not waiting for Draco to respond, Harry pulled out from under Draco's weight and dug for his trousers. Crying out in success, he located them. After frantically searching the pockets, Harry realized there was nothing there. His gaze flew around the room.

Grabbing his new robes, Harry dug in the pockets and finally pulled out a small black box. After reaching the side of the sofa, Harry knelt and held out the box.

"What's this, Harry?" Draco looked suspicious.

"Will you just take it and open it? It's not a Portkey, it's not a bomb, it's not anything bad. Well, I hope it's not bad. It could be bad since you're so picky. But I don't think it's bad. At least, I hope I don't think…" The finger on his lips silenced Harry.

"You're babbling." The finger on his lips disappeared as Draco took the box. He opened it and froze. Inside was a platinum ring of simple design.

"It's a promise ring, Draco. You know, like kids give to each other when they're dating in school? I just wanted to continue the whole school date thing, you know? I wanted to promise to you. Well, promise to you that I loved you cause I do." Harry's ramblings broke off as Draco continued to stare at the ring. The moment dragged on as Harry started to sweat once more.

Finally, Draco's gaze slid from the ring to Harry's face. Harry's breath caught as he met Draco's eyes. There was such love in that gaze that Harry didn't need the words. With speaking, Harry pulled the ring from the box and slid it on Draco's finger.

"I love you so much. I know I'm not the most romance savvy guy or the most sophisticated guy or whatever. I just wanted to give you…" Harry was forced to stop as Draco pressed his finger against his lips once more.

"Everything, Harry. You've given me everything."
