wook77: (Deamus - Kiss)
[personal profile] wook77
I'm going to be rec'ing Deamus on [livejournal.com profile] crack_broom coming up eventually and, in an effort to not miss things, I thought I would ask for your Deamus recs.

So then I was thinking, if you all give me enough recs, I could probably just come up with a giant reclist of doom. A group of Deamus fans had discussed coming up with a central reclist of the best Deamus evah and I volunteered to collect the links. So, plz to be rec'ing Deamus here.

Any and all recs, if you think they are worthy by anyone (whether a Deamus shipper or not, whether it's your BFF, your favorite author, me, your mom, whatever).

Fic, art, vids. Lay them on me.

****Please be sure to link the story so that I can compile them****

Also - a comment as to why you love the story would be appreciated but not necessary.

If you see a story rec'd that you think is brilliant, feel free to comment and tell me why you love it. Let's share our love of this pairing!

And as always, please, if you experience a new work - leave a comment for the creator!

How Disney Nearly Ruined My Relationship (http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=4842) - by [livejournal.com profile] kaalee

This story was my first introduction to "good" Deamus and I absolutely fell in love with the story, the pairing and the author in one fell swoop.

In Darkness Lies (http://community.livejournal.com/slashfest/110750.html) by [livejournal.com profile] chaeldub.

Of course it was written for me but that's not the important part. The important part here is the dynamics between Dean and Seamus - how they cope with the changing world and what happens to them. It's about friendship sliding in to love and devotion sliding in to sacrifice.

What Seemed Like Ages (http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=14313) by [livejournal.com profile] kaalee.

Originally overlooked (IMHO) during [livejournal.com profile] merry_smutmas - this is an awesome read with wicked confessions and a sense of timing that I thought quite excellent. I love the sacrifices that Dean and Seamus make to keep their friendship status quo just so that they don't risk it.

I think that's one of the overriding themes that I love in the Dean/Seamus dynamic - the way that they sacrifice for their best mate just not to lose him. It's a cliche but it's such a good one that I could read it all day every day.

Chapter VI - Late Nights By The Fire (http://a-real-phony.livejournal.com/14128.html) - by [livejournal.com profile] a_real_phony.

This is such a hot piece of artwork that doesn't have a piece of nudity in it. The hands, the hair and the small little tiny peeks of skin are enough to get the imagination churning and going.

Plus it was for me :D

Um...I would add your one from Smutmas last year. I don't have the link or title handy (*FAILS*), but I remember being deeply drawn into the characterizations.

I'm going to be kind of lame and link you to my Del.icio.us Deamus tag where I have my recs. This isn't all of the Dean/Seamus that I've loved, not by any means, just the ones I've got around to tagging since I started keeping track of them.

ok, I'm a little late. Hope you'll forgive my tardiness. I suppose it would feel a little self serving, but it would be an absolute shame to rec Seamus/Dean and not rec A Root So Deep which is my standard Seamus/Dean Go To fic. (I just typed Go To Fuck. Hee.) Makes me happy every single time I read it. The bit with the kissing and the mirror behind the bar? Kills me dead every time.

If you're looking for something less yours, A Seamus Thing is one of the squishiest things I've ever read. Perfect fumbly first time teenage boy perfection.

Also, A Strange Facade of Normalcy is an absoutely wonderful characterization of Seamus, written by the one who does him best.

Drawing Seamus nnnnngggghhh. You know?
