I think I want to trash my
hpvalensmut. All I have left is the smut scene but omg, I read over it as a complete work (other than the sex) and it reads like a million and one other versions of this exact same story. I hate it. No, wait, wrong word. I LOATHE it. LOATHE isn't even strong enough. This fic is the suckiest blandest thing I have ever written. It's getting trashed and I'm going to go with something else. *nods emphatically and avoids
janicechess and
yodels who are the poor unfortunate souls who are going to have to beta whatever I do next*
Thankfully, I have to go get my emissions tested tomorrow and I do my best writing in the car or the bathroom. That would be why I've taken to carrying a writing journal with me, literally, everywhere.
Speaking of writing journals - I never did tell you guys that
janicechess got me a journal for my birthday. It is called "The Book of Backfield Play". And OMG. It was made out of an old playbook and heee!!! DIAGRAMS OF BACKFIELD PLAY! *giggles uncontrollably STILL*
Last night was a fairly rough night at Fry's. If I could afford it, I would've walked out. The "manager" on duty disappeared for 3 hours - of which, I spent 45 minutes actively looking for her. Turns out she was "stocking" batteries except, um, no. I was doing that. In fact, all of my coworkers were either socializing for HOURS at a time or missing or on break. Who stocked/faced/straightened the entire home department (that means: electronics, kitchen, towels/domestics, health, beauty, pharmacy, baby, furniture, patio furniture, outdoors, coffee/food storage/misc, automotive, toys, laundry, vacuums, appliances, the promotion aisle, valentine's, various displays of random crap)? Guess. go on. It's an easy one. ME. There were 6 of us and I was the ONLY ONE to do anything all night. And I'm really not exaggerating. They are reviewing the security cameras to confirm it and they found out I was right. All of those people are getting written up THANK GOD.
Add in to all this stress that I found out that my hours were cut from 30 to 18 (instead of the promised 24) and, well, I'm not a happy camper. I told the manager tonight to get it fixed plzkthx. She's a really good lady so she said she'd talk to the scheduler for me.
Then today, day from hell. Work was horrible. I had to deal with filing tax forms and the software, of course, frelling well implodes on me. All I did was back up the database and suddenly I could no longer print the forms I needed. Thank God no one was on the gmailchat because otherwise, they would've had to listen to my copious amounts of cursing the IRS. Especially after the convo I had on Wed or Thursday -
I needed to pick up some forms that only the IRS department at the Federal Building downtown carries. They're fairly obscure forms that only non-profits use or an obscure sort of retirement income statement. To understand the idiocy, I need to 'splain.
1098c = form used to report donated vehicles
1098 - form used to report income from mortgage rates
1099R - retirement income
I asked for 10 1099R forms and 15 1098c forms. Lady first messes up the distributions but whatever, it's easy to do.
Then she comes back and tells me that they have no 1098c forms (this would be the obscure form that only non-profits use for the most part).
I go, well, when will you get them in? (keep in mind that the 2007 forms were only available as of beginning of January)
Her: 6-8 weeks
me: I have to file them to the donors by January 31st. How can I get a copy of the forms by then?
her: You can call the order department
me: I've called. They can't get me the forms for 4-6 weeks.
her: well, I have a 1098. You want 15 of those?
me: *BOGGLES* No, I really do not want any of those. Those are statements of income from mortgage interest rates. I need to report value of donated vehicles.
her: so they're not the same form? You don't just need page c of the form?
me: *BOGGLES* No. I need form 1098c.
her: *hands me ONE 1099R* that's all we have of those.
me: So just so that I understand. You have one 1099R and no 1098c forms. I have to have these forms postmarked by January 31st but I can't get the forms for, at the minimum, a month. How do I file for an extension?
her: You can't.
me: So I'm out of luck?
her: We can't help you. *looks over my shoulder* Next customer please?
Luckily, I figured out that the forms that I need to get to the customers have actually already been filed to the customers for the most part and the others, I can photoshop (meaning, fill in the blanks to the downloaded/scanned form). I ordered the forms from the phoneline ordering system and so I have time to get the original red copies to the IRS postmarked by February 25th.
STUPID IRS PEOPLE THOUGH. OMG. How do you NOT KNOW that the forms are different? How is that possible? They're YOUR FORMS. I didn't make them up, for fuck's sake! They've been around for YEARS!
So yes, not in a good mood. I'm tired, cranky, poor and I have to go get my emissions tested tomorrow. That means that I have to get gas as I do not have any. The IRS and the DMV - all in one week. Why yes, I am a masochist. How could you tell?
I promise that the happy news will pick back up some day soon.
