I really enjoyed reading this! It was so interesting to me, as I'd never thought about things from Barty's POV before. I always just thought of him as a crazy dude, but I can see how having a dad like Barty Sr. might have made him want to be rebellious. It made me feel sorry for him, which I never did before. (I actually generally feel more sorry for Barty Sr.)
Of course, I also can imagine that Barty Sr.'s father was a total hardass and made his son the inflexible pedant he turned out to be... So sad.
