It seems like lately, I've been posting "blah" quite a bit. Possibly because I've been feeling really blah.

But after today, I'll take blah. Today has been the day from hell. It started out when the bitch behind me at the gas station decided to try to steal the extra I'd paid into the pump. I prepaid too much money and I went in for my change and the lady behind me was pumping gas into her car on MY money. Twat-nosed bitch.

Anyway, I had to cut my best friend's final check at work, so yeah, that sucked.

Got home, fought with the family and so yeah, that sucked.

But what doesn't suck? The following -

insidethenight. It's a "Harry died and Voldemort won" RPG that rocks. Gameplay just started and I play a fairly psychotic Bella. She's not insane but she is psychotic. God I love her. Characters are still open, including Ron Weasley, Bill, Charlie, Rudolphus (come on, you know you want to play my husband!!!!) and Death Eaters and Order Members Galore.

vu_network. I got the role I wanted in there so I'm super psyched for that as well. It's a AU 6th Year setting. They're still casting for characters including - Hermione, Snape, McGonagall, Blaise, etc. It looks to be really fun and the mods are awesome!

hp_bb. Yeah - very psyched for this to start on March 7th. This looks extremely entertaining. I'm super super excited.

coffeejunkii finished Precipice (the link is for the final part but you can find all parts at the top). Ok, so I'm so not happy with the ending but there's another part so I'll be waiting eagerly for it *pokes cj with a stick*. It's mpreg and it is really really well done.



I adore mpreg, I really do. I love dracolicious and boywholives. I adore coffeejunkii. I love the description of the bumps and the progression. I admit it, I like mpreg...alot.

However, I was reading At Last...Claimed by Loui and I have to admit I had quite a few WTF moments. Harry grows breasts and nurses at Draco's cock. Draco is going to be nursing at Harry's breasts, the baby is going to be born out the ass and it just gets more and more WTF for me. I'll give her/him/it the benefit of the doubt with the evil!dumbledore. I'll buy the whole plot thing. I'm ok with Remus/Snape (did I just say that?). I'll even buy the whole mating for two days to reach saturation point. I'll even, at this point, be ok with the "back channel" baby. But what I really *shudder* at is the breasts thing. Sorry but ew.

I know we each and every one of us have our squicks and the boys developing breasts and then the other suckling at them is now one of mine. The idea of it made me shudder and yet, I'm going to continue reading this story because, other than the squicks, it is well written and the plot line is intriguing. It's a creature!feature veela!draco story. There is all kinds of layers of intrigue and stuff that are very well plotted so far. So, I'll ignore the boob-age and the breast milk thing and continue on. Anyone else read this? Anyone else have thoughts?

wow, that story sounds interesting. i have to say that it sounds like it might be a bit much, but i will definitely check it out.

i used to be squicked by male breastfeeding, but things that change really changed my feelings about that. my favorite scene in the entire story might be the one in which draco nurses abraxas while harry's watching.

Had to add my thoughts on Loui's piece. Mabe it is a kink of mine, but I find the whole "brooding" thing to be highly erotic. That and I love her story. So far it has been well worth reading. Very well thought out and edited.

On Louie's fic (I think it's the same one) - I was intrigued and enjoyed it until it got to the 48 hours of butt-sex bit - it was just so far from real life as to be utterly laughable, and that's the point at which I gave up. That and the emotions between H & D were so saccharin. But I did start out enjoying it...

yeah, see, I'll even buy the 48 hours of butt sex because the whole veela secretion thing...even though she describes shifting positions and, possibly TMI but yeah, not so easy there. But back channel babies and nursing at man-boobs? um, yeah, *squick*.

It has a good premise. I'm not a fan of evil!dumbledore but I'm giving it a shot. I'm hoping it gets better instead of worse. *crosses fingers*

I'm still going to keep going on it. It is well thought out and edited. I found that I had some problems with editing the first time around but then she pulled it and re-did it and now that's not a concern.

I'm just not into the man-boobs thing for some reason. For me, being a woman is also about having boobs. A man shouldn't have boobs. I get grossed out by a man with boobs at the beach or ball game or wherever. It's just "ick" to me.

So, still reading and hopefully it's not as squicky to me as I'm fearing. I do like the necromancer thing and the treaty with Voldemort and the Veela Council thing. That all makes it worth reading.

:) I hope they give it a try, especially because you promised another part of the arc. I do adore where you end it even though I hate it as well (I hope that makes sense). Just in case it didn't - I love cliffhangers because they keep me intrigued and stalking looking for updates. At the same time, I love a completed story as well because my brain is just churning with worst-case scenarios.

Anyway, I gush about Precipice and ALL your mpreg stories. Well, actually, all your stories. They're so beautifully written.

Anyway, yeah, Loui's fic has really great plot but there are a ton of things that I have to "buy into" in it. I'm willing so far. The draco nursing at Harry's breasts though - it's squicky to me. In the last chapter, Harry started getting them and was all "I'm like a teenage girl now!" and that threw me a bit.

As the "mecca for mpreg" - I'd love to hear what you think about it.

I was really into the fic for awhile, but lost a bit of interest. It is well-plotted and intriguing, I especially loved all the negotiations with necromancers and the cease-fire and stuff. BUT, I have to agree with flamewarrior the relationship between Harry and Draco just got way to sappy for me. Even all the boobage and back channel stuff didn't bother me as much. In creature fics I'm pretty willing to let a lot go, but not their essential personalities. *shrug*

*blushes* thank you :). i thought about just continuing the story beyond where it ends now, but then decided against it because it was always moving towards this particular point from the very beginning, and i didn't want to lose that dynamic. i completely get how, from a reader's pov, it's both a frustrating and intriguing ending.

i skimmed through the fic last night and am highly fascinated. probably moreso from an academic pov than from a fannish pov :). as a fan, there are many things that make me roll my eyes [like the characterizations, for example, and then the whole necromancer and treaty thing, which are just too much for my taste]. i can easily see how this could be exactly the kind of mpreg that makes people run for the hills.

from an academic pov, though, i find the things that are imagined in this story very interesting. i think it would be easy to say that it's such a stereotypical story in which harry is put into this feminized role, but i have a sense that the author actually is making a point about mpreg here--it's just too well-thought out to be random. i think there are some very strategic choices involved here. i'm also totally wondering if this person is/has been involved with smallville fandom because there's this lionel person and calling the baby alexander, for one, and also, the theory about mpreg reminds me of a view clex fics i've read.
