On to the rest which are all recs from various holiday exchanges:

Le Songe by remeciel. The first set of art is absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful. Remus/Sirius

Parts of a Whole - Remus/Sirius. Yes, I obviously know who the author is but dude. AWESOMENESS. Complete and total awesomeness. My favorite bit is the hand fisted in the shirt.

See, I don't think that one necessarily NEEDS the smut to have artwork be hot. I don't need the cock. What I need in a piece of artwork is something that inspires me to think about what comes next, what tells me what comes next without bashing me over the head with it. IMHO (and obviously this is just MHO), putting the cock in every single picture is the artistic equivelent of an assload of tell not show. To me, artwork that implies what comes next is even better. It shows me where we're going and the journey the artist wants me to go along on. This artwork (deamus) is a prime example. Look at it. It's fucking hot because you can tell that the characters are just about to rip the clothes from one another and shag each other rotten. You can feel the need and the awkwardness and the UST.

That's what I like - blatant and complete and total UST. I don't need the smut. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the smut. I do. But I don't need it. Anyway, my two cents.

Contoured Bodies (Seamus/Lavender) IDK that I buy that this is Seamus and Lavender as Lavender's skin is unmarred after getting ravaged by Fenrir and I really cannot see that what with how scarred-up Remus and Bill are/were. However, that aside, I think it's a beautiful tender piece that definitely deserves a look. And then another one.

oh - i don't need the smut either. most of the time UST pushes my buttons even more than the sex (that's not to say the sex isn't awesome, specially if it follows the UST). but i hate that i can't draw full-on porn because in my case that amounts to a lack of skills. like: i don't draw it, but not because i choose not to, but because i *can't*. :/ it's hard to hide your lack of anatomy knowledge when both characters are baring it all. XD

See? Exactly! and, LOL at hiding the lack of anatomy knowledge. I think you do a bang up job of it. My fave r/s artwork is the one you did that I use in my icon. You had such UST in it that I didn't mind that you didn't see all the bits and pieces.

Lavender was ravaged by Fenrir? Did I miss that? Also, Bill has scars because he was slashed by Fenrir's claws across his face - not bitten. Remus - who was bitten, not slashed - is never described as having scars in canon. That's completely fanon.

I don't think artwork NEEDS teh cock either, but it's not like I'm going to say no when certain artists draw smut so beautifully. :-P

Page 646 in the American version of DH. She's saved by Trelawny tossing her balls and a curse blasting Fenrir off of her. She's one of the two bodies that falls from above, so she'd probably also have some sort of scarring/damage from that fall as well.

Oh I won't turn down the smut but I don't exactly seek it out anymore. I'd rather have that UST where I get to imagine what comes next. And, tbh, it barely ever involves rimming :P

Sorry to butt in but I think yes she had the Fenrir scaring but probably not permanent damage from the fall. Magic can fix some pretty yucky non-magical injuries.

Also Remus having scars is Fanon not Canon. Never once does it mention Remus's scars because at least in canon Harry never sees Remus with his clothes off (only Sirius does). He has lines on his young face and grey hair are the tips his body has been stressed more than the average. However we can safely assume because he used to have to bite and scratch himself he does indeed have scars. *shuts up now*

and I totes had to look that up, btw. I remembered the general vicinity but not the exact page number :D. Even my memory isn't that good :P

And I agree that many pieces of art can be really hot without overt smut. Give me passion and I can imagine the smut for myself. :-)

My favorite art piece I have ever seen in the HP fandom that is sexual is a piece by

ericahpfa. Granted it's pretty racey because Remus's cock is in Sirius's mouth, but that's not the part that kills me. It's the look on Remus's face, the absolute pleasure. Should I find the link for you?
