Week in the Life - Day 1

I will, in all likelihood, fail at keeping this up for 7 days BUT...

Rules:
1. You must take between 6 and 8 new photographs per day.
2. Your WITL must be consecutive. No skipping days.
3. You must post your photographs at the end of that day, sometime after the last picture is taken.
4. Each photograph must have the time taken beneath and a title, with no other explanation.
5. You must post these rules at your first entry, then link back to it for the other six days so that people will know wtf you're doing.
6. Your post must say "A Week in the Life of [your name/username], Volume [whatever day you're on].

The last of my Tastykakes (anyone want to send moar?):

Random photos from when I meant to do this before:

Book 4 of the Nightrunner Series (this photo also known as, "proof that wook reads in the car at red lights):

My poor car:

I hadn't known that I lived where there was a mechanic's garage four houses up. This truck annoys me as it parks right where I can't back out of my own driveway without almost hitting it. Park near your own garage/house, you fucker. And stop towing in your ghetto beaters.

My ficus tree. Purchased in 1996. Was told it would last MAYBE two months and the guy thought he was ripping me off for charging me 15 bucks for it. I call him Jabba as he is normally ginormous (i just pruned him):

Also GIP! Look at the icon [livejournal.com profile] elanorofcastile made me! *lovesliekwhoa*

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Come visit anytime! I've a guest room now! We could do all sorts of fun stuff around Tucson if you come. But not until next year as I have no vacation time until then and I would want to take time off to hang out with you lots and lots. :D <3

[identity profile] wendy.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
I want to come have dinner in your beautiful kitchen!

PUPPY!

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
YES! Plz do!

Isn't Jake the most awesome thing ever? Look at those stubby basset legs with that giant pit bull head! He is <3.

Your kitchen is gorgeous. I love the redness!

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks so much! I love that deep red as it sets off the cabinets so nicely! There are some really lovely knots and graining in the cabinets, too.

The bartop is awesome! My sister and mum made it and they are just really really talented :D

[identity profile] best-of-five.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
aww! piccies are so nice. can't wait to see it all :D

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Heee! There are plenty more, hopefully. If I remember and I'm not too busy chatting with someone at work.

Mock and I will hurt you in your sleep on our trip.

Your poochie is awesome. As is your taste in reading material (I heart Linda Howard, heh). I want to come live with you! :D

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, well, that's the dog I dogsit instead of one of mine. I'll try to get all four for photos tomorrow :D.

Linda Howard is awesome! I love Julie Garwood, too. I'm currently reading Book 2 of the Brenda Novak "The Last Stand" trilogy. Have you tried that yet? Trust me was excellent and Stop me is really good so far!

Come on down!!!!

Your kitchen is very nice. And you have an orange tree!!!

I love dogs and Jake looks intelligent :D

In the picture it looks like you have ice on your car.

I stopped reading the Nightrunner series at book two (I didn't read good things about book three, so I was unsure about buying it). Is it any good? What about forth (I didn't know there was a forth, btw)?

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Eee! Thanks! The kitchen is quite lovely. It's one of the rooms I love the most in the whole house.

Jake is super smart and very placid, too.

And hee! It's just too bad that that is the oxidation of the clearcoat across the top. The silvery bits are where there is NO paint on my hood :(.

Book 3 was my fave Nightrunner book. Book 4...errrrrrr....well, it felt like she lost her characters. Too long between books, methinks.

You have Shadows Return already?

*is green with envy*

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I do but, um, well, um. It was all right. I've a proper review coming. It's good but not as good as I was hoping.

[identity profile] waterbird.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm envious of your citrus trees! We've got a plum tree in our back garden, but I counted and it looks like we'll be lucky to get five plums this year.

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! I love having the citrus trees. I had lime trees at the other house but the birds ate the blossoms every year.

We've got about 10 grapefruits and about fifty bazillion oranges. Not bad for the first year for a set of dwarf citrus plants :D.

Yay for pretty kitchen and plants.
I squeed when I saw you had Shadow's Return already. We couldn't find it the other day over here.
I was so tempted to buy it from the store where she was doing signings so I'd get an autographed copy but I couldn't afford it.
I've been watching Lynn's LJ and it's a great laugh. She was answering a lot of questions about the series and all.

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
EEE!

Shadow's Return is good. It's not as good as I was hoping but it was good. I wanted an autographed copy, as well, but the shipping was way out of my price range.

And I LOVE her LJ. The little questions she answers are so awesome! I love the Tamir triad. Did you read that one?

your kitchen is so pretty!! *steals your tomatoes for salsa*

I love all your trees and things. I can't keep a plastic christmas tree alive!

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
We're having stewed tomatoes and homemade salsa (we have a jalapeno plant, too) and stuffed tomatoes and tomatoes in our eggs and fritattas and lots and lots of stuffs.

Hee! I'm horrible at keeping things alive. I think that Jabba only lives to spite the dude who sold him to me. When I moved him from PA back down to AZ, he went down to about 30 leaves. It was really sad and I cried because he'd been with me for so long and I couldn't stand to see him so stressed so I really babied him for a very long time. He loves it outside during the summer.

[identity profile] dark0feenix.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Very pretty pictures with so many citrus trees and all. I think I'm in love with your kitchen. It's nice and shiny. And actually I don't think the house in the first picture is ugly at all. *hides* :)

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! The kitchen is love.

The first house is much more pink IRL. It is justaklfda;dlsfjk PINK. So very very PINK.

[identity profile] secretsolitaire.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
Add me to the list of folks coveting your kitchen. Man.

*pets Jake*

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Thanks! You're more than welcome to come by and have a cuppa with me anytime!

[identity profile] kaalee.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
I, too, love your kitchen! It doesn't surprise me that you have such gorgeous, vibrant colors, nor that you were the one to pick out the color and do it.

Also, I want citrus trees.

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Thanks! I can't wait to paint my room. Which, hopefully, is happening this weekend. Bright Lime Green and deep chocolate brown and bright blue and a deep teal and a;dlfjka;fjk COLOR!

Citrus trees are AWESOME. I had lime trees but the birds ate the blooms so I never got my limes.

[identity profile] yodels.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Are those Kandykakes I spy? My favoritest of all the Tastykakes. Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a Tastykake.

Love the kitchen!

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Kandykakes!!!!! OMG OMNOMNOM!

I love love love them so much. My dad sends them to me for birthdays and christmas. Those are the last of the ones I froze after Christmas.

You'll need to come here and have a cup of tea with me in the kitchen!

[identity profile] coffeejunkii.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
i really love your kitchen!! what are tastykakes?

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Tastykakes are the little cakes in teh photo... they're the best. They're a Philly brand and are so much better than like Twinkies or Little Debbies. MMMMMMM

[identity profile] kethlenda.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Doggie! What a cutie.

There's something I love about seeing green fruit on a tree. Always have. Not sure why. I think it goes back to when I was a little kid and first realized that those green blobs "magically" turned into fruit.

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't he? *huggles him* I get to dogsit him for like 3 weeks in October. I'm so excited! Jake time!!!

I love it, too. I start thinking of what I want to do with it and making all these grandiose plans and then, in the end, I know I'm just going to eat them as is. But the plans are lovely :D

[identity profile] nefernat.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That kitchen is beautiful and that counter top absolutely gorgeous!!

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! The countertop is especially lovely IRL. The colours are even brighter than on my photo above.

[identity profile] gryffindorj.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad to know I am not the only one who reads at red lights. I'm quite jealous of your grapefruit and orange trees. I always want to grow citrus and it's far too cold here in the winter to do that. *pets your doggy*

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! I'm also really really glad I'm not the only one! I always get odd looks from the driver's next to me but I feel more productive. Sometimes, I write at red lights. I'll drive with my tablet on my lap and then write as much as I can.

This is my first year with citrus trees that get beyond the bloom stage. Down here, there are places where people just let the fruit rot on the ground because there's so much. Me? I snag it all!

Jake is love! I get to dogsit him in October again and he is so cool!

[identity profile] wearethestars.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 05:24 am (UTC)(link)

Thanks! And yeah - it's been fascinating looking at everyones! I'm having fun doing it, too. I actually remember to take photos, um, 50% of the time, too!
