Random Update
I'm desperately behind on comments and emails. I will get to them, I promise.
That out of the way, OMG do I owe
mizthang_88 and
why_me_why_not because they seriously saved my ass on Thursday. Stupid me totally interpreted midnight wrong and was stuck working on this past (and the future) Thursday when...
slashfest opens its doors for the various rounds. Without hesitation, these two waded in and took over coding the requests and they've promised to do the same for the claiming as well. So, big rounds of thanks to the pair of them.
Go forth and request that scenario you'd like to see out there but just don't have the time to write yourself. There have been some really good ones so far but there's always room for one more. Requests open until January 8th at 11:59pm.
Had my first couple days at Fry's. Learned that the rest of the store thinks that those of us in the Home Department are entitlement h0rs who don't work for a living. Seems that the Home Department doesn't have to ask for breaks, get to wander at will to face and explore and, basically, have lax managers who don't give a shit how long it takes you to do your job, just get it done. I folded towels for 3 hours the first night. That translates to 400 towels after I started counting. Second night (last night) I was at the store until midnight. So, I stocked assloads of health and beauty shit (like shampoo and soaps and stuffs). boring. The night stockers were all a bunch of pissy bitches who got mad when I went to leave. Their manager told me my shift wasn't over. AHAHAHA, bitch. So I pointed out that I'd been there since 6pm and that it was time for me to go. They finally let me out of the store to go home at about 12:15. I didn't clock out until we were done arguing about whether or not I was allowed to leave. Went to Fry's tonight to pick up juice and dinner and my manager pulled me aside and apologized for the argument and said she explained that I was splitting the two shifts and stuffs. So, that's cool.
First time ever, I have to go get my car tested for emissions. UGH. Not about the whole concept of testing but about having to do it. There's only two stations and one is by the waste treatment plant and the other is on the wrong side of town. So, I'm screwed either way. Plus, their hours are ridiculous. (they're only open until 4 except on whatever day and then they're open until blah and blah but not on this second tuesday of the third month or what the fuck ever).
Anyone remember The Last Starfighter? Just rewatched it last night and omg, so good. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it. The surprising thing is that it was made in 1984 and, for the most part, the animation stands up to the test of time. I know, color me shocked, too. I love that movie. It's sort of Tron and Star Wars and silly video game movies and cheese all wrapped into one delectable package. It's a light watch, nothing that requires brain function, really, but still totally worth it. I highly recommend that you go forth and rent if you like sort of sci-fi and fantasy squashes.
Got my prompt at
picfor1000. It's better than last year's ass. (for those not around, it really was a donkey/ass sort of thing)

Not sure what fandom to write in but it's an interesting photo. I'm sort of hopeful something at
slashfest fits the prompt as well. Two birds, one stone.
I'm feeling wicked amounts of better, let me tell you. I woke up Friday with this feeling of "OMG I'M HEALTHY" and then was crushed back to congested when I tried to breathe. BUT... important part is that my congestion is almost gone, the pink eye and ear infection are gone. The cough is sort of gone but not really. I actually got 9 hours of consecutive sleep last night. Then, I took a nap and got another 4 hours. A nap, btw, that took place about an hour after I woke up. So, I'm feeling much more human. Even though I got so much sleep, I'm still beyond knackered. I need to catch up on comments and I'll do emails tomorrow. *nods*

Glad that you're feeling better!
Oh and I'm coming to Phoenix, AZ this year for the yaoi jamboree! We can get together?

Err, I mean, yes, we can get together!
The Last Starfighter is so made of win. I just looked up the main guy in IMDB and how sad is it that he hasn't really done much? Did you know that Will Wheaton was in it?
no subject
I probably knew that at one time, but I didn't realize until I watched it again. I love seeing actors randomly in things!

OMG YES! I was completely obsessed with that movie as a kid. I desperately wanted to be a starfighter pilot, and I think I might have had a bit of a crush on Grig. ::blushes madly::
Yeah, my geek roots go way back.

Also, he looks sort of like what I remember the aliens to look like in Alien Mine.

I have to work 24 hours this week and 30 the following week. So the suckage is still to come. (those are obviously on top of my 40 hour a week real job)

I'm glad you're feeling better. And holy shit woman - how the hell do you have time to do all the things you do? You either have awesome time management skills or a time turner! :-P

I surround myself with brilliant people is how I get everythign done. Actually, that's sort of it and then the time management skills too. My brain never shuts down so I'm constantly thinking thinkythings like dialogue and if a sex position would work or how one would go about getting them into that position or... so, really, multi-tasking is the secret. Nothing keeps the road rage away like some good old-fashioned pr0ny thoughts.
