trials and tribulations or why you shouldn't finance your car through mitsubishi
As many of you know, I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse. I financed through Mitsubishi because they were offering some really kick-ass financing deals.
For the first six months (you know, those months that I didn't have to make a payment), they were brill. I got the bills on time, I got detailed information.
Once I started having to make payments, it all went down hill.
They have a history (at least with me) of cashing checks and then not applying payments in a reasonable amount of time. (ie, immediately...) I've had to send them copies of cancelled checks but I make an extra payment and everything seemed to be kosher.
In November, I didn't have the extra money because hello, they've drained all my accounts, they did this and I sent them the paperwork showing that the check cleared and it took them until January to correct their error.
Shock of all shocks, in March and April, this happens again and I demand a statement showing payment history. I get the statement last night when I got home from work. I have the morning off today, I'll be fine for calculating what's going on.
This morning, I wake up to my car missing. It was reposessed due to failure to pay my bill. You know, the bill that I have the cancelled checks to prove that I've been paying.
So I call Mitsubishi and they tell me, you need to pay the account in full. I'm like umwts? I call my dad, explain what's going on (and yes, I cried. Buckets. This is stressful and I was upset) and he very kindly lends me the FULL amount of my car loan and he will now act as my bank. Good deal, I'm calmed down quite a bit.
I call Mitsubishi to give them my credit card number (and 13,500 dollars) and Miss Keyes (the repo rep that is the only one that I'm allowed to speak to about this) yells at me and then hangs up on me when I try to give her my credit card number. Seems they don't take credit card numbers there.
So, I'm all WTS (what the shit... my new favorite phrase) and I call back because I had other questions... like how do I give them 13.5k. I get a very nice woman on the phone who says that she'll have the final amount to me within an hour and call back then.
I call back after an hour and a bit passes. I get Miss Keyes again. She doesn't even let me speak before she's trying to talk over me and she yells that she doesn't have the amount and call back before 5 and then, surprise surprise, hangs up on me.
I call back instantly and am like, wts? So, I get this rep named Tiffany that can't seem to figure out that 129 = 129 and not 219. I'm all, don't take your anger at Miss Keyes out on her, this is probably her first job and I'm taking deep breaths. Finally, she puts me on hold (surprise, when you put 129 instead of 219 in the computer, I come up!!! WOW). She comes back on the phone and tells me Miss Keyes says call back at 4. I ask, what time zone. She says central. I say, great, I'll call back in 4 hours then. TIffany then lectures me on what time it would be for me in my timezone to call then. Great, the incompetent boob knows more about how Arizona doesn't do daylight savings time than me. YAYES. In her defense, I did say 4 hours and not 4 o'clock.
As she starts to hang up on me, I say, wait. I had one more question and I would really like to get more than one question answered before you all hang up on me. It gets tedious having to put all those numbers in just to get one piece of information. She goes, huh? I giggle internally (I figured she wouldn't get that...) and I say... can I just send in too much money? I'll just give you extra money, really, not a problem. I just want my car and not to have to bother you all again. Please? Can I give you too much money? (yes, I really was begging to pay too much money to not have to deal with Mitsubishi again)
She says, why would you do that? (err, didn't I just explain? but I took a deep breath and didn't say that) I say, because I really just want my car. Really. I want to give you over 13,500 dollars right now. I'm ready and able to do that. Really. it would make me ecstatic to give you money.
Bottom line, Miss Keyes is an incompetent arrogant bitch on a power trip and I can't give Mitsubishi over 13k until at least 4 their time, 2 my time, now 3 hours away.
I wasn't even rude. That's what gets me. Maybe I should try being the squeaky wheel. Isn't that the one that gets the lube? Cause I'm getting the shaft right now and I wouldn't mind some lube to make it glide a bit more smoothly.
