(no subject)

Cisco's lump came back. Turns out it's a fatty mass that weighed two pounds and was bigger than a baseball. Incision is 7 inches long.

He's sleeping in his pretty pretty princess bed (it's bright pink with a crown. In my defense, it was on clearance at Target and all I could afford at the time).

I appreciate the thoughts and well wishes.

Today=emotional rollercoaster from hell but at least Cisco turned out to be a-ok :D.

:D Thanks! It was a bit nervewracking for quite a bit of it but :D:D:D he's sleeping it off now. I have to keep doing "death checks" on him - make sure he's still breathing. He's NEVER been this still, not even after any of his other surgeries.

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
*HUGS* :D He's doing well! Well, he's more sleeping and not moving around and making me check that he's still breathing but he's sleeping it off :D

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
:D:D:D Thanks! He's good to go or he will be once he sleeps off hte rest of the anesthesia. He didn't eat dinner which I think might have helped him sleep it off :/

I'm glad that it's just a fat deposit, but it still sounds like an ordeal for you both!

~hugs~

~sends vibes for speedy and complete recovery~

i am so happy for everyone!

do your doggies play well with others? because our doggies should have a playdate when Cisco is better. Hero will play with anyone, human, cainine or feline.

I'm glad Cisco is doing better. And I'm sure he has no idea he's sleeping in a prissy princess bed.

[identity profile] nightfalltwen.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Our dog KD had those fatty lumps on her body too. I think it's a thing that older dogs get.

I'm glad Cisco is okay. >:D

Yay! Very good to hear that Cisco is okay!

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I was a bit o.O over the weight. They offered me a chance to see it. Alas, I declined.

Hell, just the smell of hospital on Cisco has had my stomach upset all night :/.

Quite an ordeal that involved me cashing out extra PTO, begging my boss for a loan from the petty cash box and a few other things...all for naught as the surgery ended up cheaper than they told me it would be.

Original estimate - 400 bucks
New estimate - 700 bucks (wts? o.O)
Total cost - 350 bucks.

me: repaying work ASAP.

Kuka plays well with others but Cisco and Nala? Not so much. Clancy is hit or miss on whether he plays well. He's getting old so he's a bit crankier than he's ever been. :D:D:D

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
:D I'm sure he has no idea. He's currently wrapped in an old towel that he loves to sleep on (but we normally don't let him). The poor guy's leg and back are completely bald so he's coooooooollllldddd (and ok, it's like 72 in the house but that's cold for us. *winks*)

He's very cute in his pretty princess bed.

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
YEah, that's what the vet said, too. She wasn't sure on this one because it felt weird. But the reason it felt weird was it went in to the muscle so far.

But he's doing well and STILL sleeping it off. I woke up about a billion times last night and checked him to make sure he was still with us since he's so still. It's weird cause he's definitely one of the dogs that run in his sleep. He's always sniffling and snuffling, too. No noises and no movement... I wibbled all night.

*accepts on both our behalfs* (behalves?)

:D:D:D I'm very glad he's doing all right :D

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!!! He's doing well, still, even though he's scaring the crap out of me by not moving at all.

[identity profile] dark0feenix.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Happy to hear it wasn't anything serious. :)

[identity profile] wook77.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Merci!!!! It really wasn't. He's finally started eating cheese so methinks he's on the path to recovery *winks*.

That is bizarre. We had a situation with one of our cats this summer that was similar. They estimated $700 and it ended up being $100. But it was a life-threatening situation.

The sad thing was, she ended up dying anyway and then were the costs associated with that. :(

I really think pet insurance is a valid thing, if I could afford to get it. Most people I know can't even get health insurance for themselves.
